Dude. It's not apples to apples.

MU has 8,000 undergrads.

KU = 20,330
Iowa State = 29,887
Baylor = 15,195
KSU = 23,588
Mizzou = 33,318
Oklahoma = 29,721
OSU = 23,307
Texas = 51,195
Texas A&M = 50,054
Texas Tech = 32,327

On a similar note, it's also worth taking into account that even with these much larger enrollments, if Marquette were in the Big 12, the Bradley Center would be the largest basketball arena in the conference by more than 2,000 seats (Current largest: Frank Erwin Center, Texas, 16,734).

BRADLEY CENTER (Marquette) 18,850
Frank Erwin Center (Texas) 16,734
Allen Fieldhouse (Kansas) 16,300
United Spirit Arena (Tex. Tech) 15,091
Mizzou Arena (Missouri) 15,061
Hilton Coliseum (Iowa State) 14,356
WVU Coliseum (West Virginia) 14,000
Gallagher-Iba Arena (OK State) 13,611
Reed Arena (Texas A&M) 12,989
Bramlage Coliseum (Kansas State) 12,528
Lloyd Noble Center (Oklahoma) 12,000
Ferrell Center (Baylor) 10,284
Daniel-Meyer Coliseum (TCU) 7,200

Thanks for the link - it was fun to watch.

BUT-

Buzz has to get off the dip - if we want him here for a long time, it's a must.
The oral cancer rate goes throught he roof with a chaw.

I'm serious - if he's got his weight down, and his lipids are OK, and he's not a booze hound, then it's the biggest threat to his long-term health.

The student sections are similar to ours, sometimes smaller.

MU's is 3,400

Kansas, according to their website, 4000
Missouri 4000
Oklahoma 2,800
OSU, 3,000

We have a great team, great coach.  Our students need to represent better than they have as our student section is roughly the same as everyone else's.  We sell the tickets, but we need to get the kids to attend.

Any one think Huggins played a role in us landing Mayo?

If so, anyone remember Huggins alleged comments to Gary Buchanan at the Milwaukee airport, when Deane was recruiting him?

This doesn't take into account the percentage of individuals desiring to go to a game. If 50% of the students at Marquette that have tickets don't want to go to a game, you have about 4,500 students to which to offer/sell them. If the same happens at one of the Big 12's, you obviously have larger demand.

Food for thought.

Last I checked, WVU was THE flagship state school, so what's their excuse?

We have two: cavernous BC and we're at least 60% smaller than most schools listed.
