Actually Long Beach lost to UCSB in their title game.  Bummer, because Long Beach was the better team this season.  Your point is valid, however!

Tubby is an aside to the main headline of this article--filling the TX Tech job opening,on Pat Knight's firing. 
Billy G to Texas Tech makes very good sense.
His best coaching work was while at UTEP, also in west Texas, and later he did well during his A&M gig'em. His recruiting contact base fits with Tech perfectly.

NC State talks are starting up again, though... GA tech, NC State, Arkansas.. I'm sure there will be some others talked bout soon.. yeeesh... it does get a little tiring.  Luckily some of the Scoop posters prepare me for hearing the same nonsense over and over and over again!

A whole lot of people out there who don't read Warrior65/69 or Williewampumwarrior or marquette84's stuff.   Be careful what you wish for, guys.   You never know when you are going to land the next Keno/Dukiet/Kennedy/Gonzo/Lowe/Crean (sorry, couldn't resist.   I appreciate all TC did here and bear him no ill will.   Sometimes the targets are just too easy)/ Knight (Pat)/Doherty (at UNC)/Pelphrey (still think they jumped the gun too quick with him)/Capel.     I prefer Buzz to all of them.
