I'm no recruiting expert but i've read in several places that Buzz is one of the top recruiters in the country with a work ethic that is stronger than Tommy.  I'm assuming Bennett and Miller have both expressed no interest in the job.  So with what is left, are you happy with Buzz?

So we get a great recruiter with a tremendous work ethic? It's Tom Crean II.

We've had 9 years of questioning his tactical acumen and that would continue with Buzz.

I think it's fair to say that none of us has a clue as to Williams' coaching acumen, so it's perhaps a little soon to judge one way or another. He could be great, could be clueless.
That said, if push comes to shove, I'd rather have a great recruiter/mediocre coach than great coach/mediocre recruiter. Hopefully we can land someone great at both, but ultimately players make the difference, not schemes.

I'm sorry, that it simply not true.  I have on more than one occasion seen exceptional talent suck under a mediocre coach...and have seen teams (like Wisconsin) do great with lesser talent.  We have all seen an underperforming coach get fired and watch his successor come in and kick butt.

And if Buzz is one of the "top" recruiters in the country then where is one of these "top" recruiting classes he landed?  Sure he's a good recruiter, maybe even better than good...but the best?  ...the top?  ...when?

Great Recruiter & Poor Head Coach.....reference Pat Kennedy (DePaul).  No thank you.
