Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

I've watched a couple ND games this year. From what I've seen, they don't give up a lot at the rim but they do allow dribble penetration and kick outs for open shots.

Might be as simple as making our open shots.

They play a 7 man rotation and 1 of the 7 is just back from injury.  They also don't play defense.  Their shooters can get hot, but our athletes in the backcourt should cause issues for them.
VIOLENCE!

Let's remind everyone of our reality of our time as MU students, Tower.

Tower, myself and David Rivers all started our freshman year in 84-85. Marquette had already lost the last two in the series versus ND.

MU played ND eight times in our four years. Like me, I'm sure Tower was at at least four of them (at the MECCA). MU lost all eight times. Here's where my animosity skews the reality of my memory, as I'm sure that David Rivers hit the winning shot in all eight games.

Damn you to hell, David Rivers.

(MU went on to lose the next two after we graduated, running the ND streak to 12 straight wins before MU won in Dec '89.)

Further, as an out-of-state student, I never felt the same sense of rivalry against UW as I did against ND. (MU went 1-3 against Madison during our years, which pretty much just shows how much our team sucked those years.) This Sunday's game is more important to me to win than the UW game last week.

ND sucks, now and forever.

F***. I just looked even more closely at the games during our years. Here's the progression of ND's margin of victory in those 8 games:
1
6
2
8
10
12
18
22

Is there anyone who would deny that ND is evil? (And that the Majerus-Dukiet years were the absolute worst.)
though I live in WI now, I grew up on the east coast in a Marquette family. I really hate Notre Dame. I was at MU '82-'86.  It's a wonderful hate I have for ND. I mock them. I pity them. Smart enough to get admitted to ND, but dumb enough to actually attend? Please. I hate RED too, but RED was nothing to me until they followed our lead and got good. A healthy and at time consuming hate for RED...a psychotherapist worthy hate for ND.
Thx. I feel better now.

Game day bump. ND will try to grind the game down and win it at the arc. Marquette will want to run and eviscerate the shabby Irish defense.

If the Irish get their way, it's probably a game decided in the final possessions, but if Marquette gets running, it could get out of hand in the visitor's favor. A high major road win would be helpful in March.

We were at MU at the same time and I really had forgotten how much I hated ND until the past couple of weeks. I grew up in MKE and my hate for UW was always high, followed by Kentucky. That being said, MU playing ND has always been something special to me. There was always that special buzz at Mecca or at BC when our hated rivals arrived to town and the games usually matched the buzz.

A tremendous amount of memories in this rivalry and I hope we literally blow them out of the gym today. I will never forget the day Austin Carr broke my heart, not the day that Doc broke their hearts.

LFG, MU!!!

If it is close, we'll need someone to step up and be a closer down the stretch - that is something we've been lacking.
