I wasn't able to see most of the game, so I can't comment on the calls on MU, but I don't think that was an over the back - https://twitter.com/NovaMBB/status/957708218037252096

Bridges gets the first hand to the ball and Cain leaves him opening/doesn't go up strong. He's a freshman and will continue to add muscle, it happens.

You can jump over someone's back and slam them to the ground? Since when?

The fact that was not a foul when compared to Harry's 3rd foul is laughable.

The world according to Elmore, if you don't box out, you cannot be fouled on a rebound.

You can't go through the person with position to get the rebound.  Bridges clearly went through him.  It doesn't matter if he got his hand on the ball first.  That seemed to be the way they called it a lot though.

They seemed to think that it is ok if you go through the guy and foul the crap out of him if you get a hand on the ball.

1. Compare it to Frolings foul.
2. I didn't actually say it was a foul, I said every person on MUs roster would be called for a foul on that play and I stand by it

I'm not going to complain about a missed call there.  Shouldn't even been an issue if someone gets a body on and boxes out Bridges.  Officials will rarely call a foul in a rebounding scramble like at the end of the game.

The Anim play on the other end, I don't know. Even on the replay it was hard to tell if it was clean or if Bridges hit his hand.

This is what some don't seem to understand.  Was that a foul...possibly.  It is a 50/50 type call.  In this game, that would have been a foul on us, it was not a foul when they did it.

There were a few blatantly bad calls (Froling's over the back:  Froling being knocked to the floor playing D in the post), they all went against MU.

There was a lot of body contact on drives to the hoop.  They were fouls against us, they were not fouls against them.  That led to a huge FT disparity (benefiting them) and foul trouble hurting us.

To claim that unbalanced officiating and inconsistent officiating did not impact the game suggests a lack of understanding from a players perspective.

First to the ball is irrelevant. If bridges makes contact with a player in position its a push. That was 100% a push. Had he gotten  the ball over him without making contact it's legal.

Fyi over the back doesn't exist. But he did push the ever loving crap out of him

I'll admit, seeing that replay on twitter, the foul wasn't as bad as I thought it was live. Still think it was foul, especially compared to what had been called earlier in the game, but can understand why it wasn't called.

I might try and go back and find it, but there was another huge missed call.

On an inbounds play, Rowsey throws it to Froling who fakes the handoff back to Rowsey and drives the baseline.  Gets pushed by his defender and winds up throwing it away.  Should have been a foul and a ref standing right there.

OK - found it.  It was with 8:30 to go and MU down 71-64.  VU got a lay up off the TO.

In any given game, one team is going to get more calls than the other. I certainly feel like Nova got more this game, but I don't think it was that unbalanced. Difference was that Nova was able to capitolize on all of them. It seemed like the missed calls on Nova always led to a Wildcat run. That's a credit to Nova and a mark against us for letting missed calls get us rattled.

Makes sense, the stable genius knows everything about basketball and always wins. Wonder if he will take credit for the win

The last minute and half in the first half and the last minute of the second half decided the game.  Both were impacted significantly by poor officiating.

Yup. Totally agree. Our horrible defense seems to just get compounded by iffy calls. But then, we probably don't get the benefit of the doubt on iffy calls because we're so bad on defense.
