Wait y'all. Didn't a former coach give out #24, piss off Brute Force, and den bs his way, per usual, by sayin' jerseys were retired, not numbers, hey?

It is. He can have 13, 23, 33, or 53. Unless Jimmy get his number retired.

Is it possible to use 03 ?
Have some patience, FFS.

MU has been so inconsistent here that the existing 'rule' sounds just fine. Protects making the #24 error once again.

Here are the gaff's I see
1. Maurice Lucas number used by multiple players including novak- why did it take until 2006 to retire his 'jersey'
2. 24 seems to be taken by a new recruit once with every new coach
3. 31 retired twice

I am sure retiring 11 sounded good at the time, but it seems silly to take that out of the rotation too.

LAMUfan

I would go 8 or 33 if you want 3 but cant have it.  33 because 2 3's, and 8 is like 2 3's hugging  8-)

While we're at it, let's not ignore how dumb it is that the uniform numbers can't include a digit higher than 5.

Or Mbakwe

Speaking of Trevor...watching his mix-tape video, he reminds of Mbakwe!

Eh.  He's a 17-18 year old.  He likes the number and perhaps feels he is honoring him.

Theo is a very respectful young man.

and I hear chili is his favorite food.

I didn't realize he is from the same town that my brother and sister-in-law live.  (Both Marquette grads BTW.)  My brother just said he has a "ridiculous wingspan".

Lucas went pro early. Prior to Wade, I believe MU would not retire a number for a player that did not graduate.

My niece was going to Champlin HS and decided to join her brother at Totino-Grace.  My brother & SIL were going to Champlin games, but who knows this season?  With TJ committing to MU they may still go watch.

I thought that too, but here is the PR from the day.  He graduated in 1982....

All of them I can understand except for 11. I know the reasoning behind it but it still seems like the silliest thing ever.

Just need to hire only polydactyl referees.
Problem solved.

...or change the signaling to the scorer's table. NBA seems to do fine with it.
