Can't recruit/teach bigs
This has been a universal truth among MU fans for time immemorial.  Essentially it goes that whatever coach du jur at MU he can't recruit and/or teach a big.  Apparently there is a big man repellant on campus preventing such players from attending or being developed by the team.  Any failure by the team can be traced to this issue....or the fact that it's a guards game and MU can't do that either.  Go Figure

Can't win on national tv or w/ baby blues
I can't find any origin history on this meme but it relatively ubiquitous for MU fans.  Per the legend, the team can't win when on national tv or when wearing the baby blue unis.  God help them if both are happening at the same time.  There have been a large number big wins and losses on national tv to make this not true, but never let reality stand in the way of a good meme

Our good friend, MU Avenue, loved to create a new thread to rant about it every time we lost on national television.  PTM provides a nice summary here:

MUavenue invented the "can't win on national TV" meme several years ago.

I haven't seen avenue here in a looong time.  He dates himself in his definition of "national TV."  He means CBS, ABC or NBC.  He does not mean that new fangled thing called "cable" or that intriguing thing on it called "ESPN."

That is really cool how tight it is.  I'm curious to see if we can get over 200 votes in total.

Does that mean Can't Recruit really won if we don't count deceased Chicagoans?

He attempted a comeback in late March.  Memories proved long, however, and he showed no more stomach for acknowledging past transgressions and moving on than he had previously, and so he again drifted away.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.
