Yes...one.

swoopem

speaking of recruiting ESPN has a new insider article about what the Hill and Shayok commitments mean to MU. Can someone please post it here?
Bring back FFP!!!

But Buzz is never done recruiting.   So.......no.    Not even close.

We had four and filled them up, but with Jameel's decision to move on, one opened up.  Buzz has said that he's looking for two bigs in this class, so over signing by one seems to be a distinct possibility.
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

Update from ESPN Insider today.

Hoops recruiting class analysis

What do the commitments of Ahmed Hill and Marial Shayok mean for Marquette in the RecruitingNation class rankings? Which conference needs to step it up? What's the bold prediction for this week? We take a look at those questions and more.

Courtesy of Aljami DurhamAhmed Hill's ability to shoot from long range will be an asset for Marquette.
Trending up

Marquette coach Buzz Williams and his staff were very active and productive in landing long-range shooter Ahmed Hill and athletic small forward Marial Shayok. In Hill, the Golden Eagles gain a physically strong guard who has the ability to make shots from deep. Shayok is an athletic wing with good size and perimeter skills who has been on Marquette's radar for a long time. The Golden Eagles now have four recruits, including two ESPN 100 prospects, with excellent size and versatility. A couple of weeks ago, they were not in our Top 25 class rankings, but they have now shot all the way up to No. 10. Marquette finished the 2013 recruiting season at No. 11.

...

Bold prediction

The Big East, with only 10 teams, is tied with the ACC for the most ESPN 100 recruits, thanks to Hill's recent pledge to Marquette. That is a great testament to the coaches in that league who are dealing with a transition year in which they lost three outstanding teams (Syracuse, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh) to the ACC.

Unfortunately, all precincts have not reported their final votes. The SEC only has nine of the ESPN 100 prospects already committed. And of the 26 remaining uncommitted ESPN 100 recruits on the board, the SEC and ACC are involved with a good portion of those players. When the signing period rolls around, expect the ACC to be the overall leader in landing the most ESPN 100 recruits.

Right - with McKay gone, shouldn't we have 1 for 2013-2014 now, and 1 more for each year thereafter?

We have one for 2013-14, and assuming we fill that one and have no transfers, we have two additional for the year after.

2013-14 is this year, right?  So, we can only fill that one through a mid-season transfer, I'd think.  Better to use it for 2014-15 which is what I think you guys are really talking about.

Yes and we'll be putting out a new Scrambled Eggs podcast tonight/tomorrow to discuss recruiting/McKay and some "conspiracy" theories we have.

Just thought I'd throw a little promotion out there  ;D

Yeah - and maybe give it to a walk-on this year (Flood?)

McKay is still on scholarship this semester...so that can't happen.

Perhaps second semester if they can do that.

We R Final Four

Is McKay still attending classes at MU?

And for APR reasons, he needs to leave in good standing.

Kind of seems unfair.

Well, lets just say that MU might make it a little harder to release him from his scholarship if he doesn't complete the semester.

We R Final Four

Does anyone know if he bought his student Fanatics tickets? Prolly get a good deal on Jan-Mar games.

Can't happen as scholarships are for 1 year and MU used its 13.

The league is doing great in losing Pitt, ND &  Syracuse bolting to the ACC. Xavier has been better over the years in ncaa runs than Pitt & ND.

We may just need his Schollie if, heaven forbids, our team is getting depleted due to injuries.

Whether it can or cannot be used it on a mid season transfer is irrelevant to me. I do not care who it is, I would not take a player that bails on his team during the season.
