I think this is missing the point- at least for me...

I love Wade and always will!!- for what he did and has done for MU, on and off the court..
But I absolutely agree with those who see in the past few years of his play a rising level of dirty play, whining, etc that quite frankly sucks.  I know many other players do it, but I hate to say Dwayne go there as much as he has...

The problem with Wade's whining is that the other team is headed down the floor while Wade is on the floor spinning like a rotisserie chicken, waiting for a call. Which leaves his team with a 4 on 5, until Wade decides to trot down that court and play half ass because of the no call. Lebron is the same way sometimes. I don't think they are dirty players.

Like what?

Is this sarcasm?

I think I've covered that, but since you asked...

Jilted Bulls fan.
Hate all things Crean and can't separate Wade and Crean, especially when Wade publicly recognizes Crean's contributions to his success.
Hate Lebron and "The Decision".

Do you hate Rose and his pansy sit out?
I thought you were dead. Willie lives rent free in Reekers mind. Rick Pitino: "You can either complain or adapt."

No, but I did find the whole thing very odd. I probably would have been pretty frustrated if I were a Bulls fan.

So, do you think jilted Bulls fans and Crean and /or Lebron haters are the reason Doyel, Glockner, talk radio and fan bases (college and pro) were all over the idea of Dwyane playing dirty and being the league's #1 whiner? Funny thing, ever since this story (legitimately) blew up, DWade has shown a much different (better) demeanor on the court. Maybe he took it to heart and if so, good for him.

Wade is the greatest basketball player in Marquette's history. He has a compelling life story and he made every MU fan proud with the way he took the NBA by storm and with his off the court charitable activities. I loved the guy and the fact that I despised Tom Crean didn't change that in the least. Truth be told, I still root for him and always will. But I'm not blind. These wounds to his image are self inflicted and any MU fan who claims that we shouldn't be disappointed by his behavior of late either hasn't been paying attention or has overdosed on the kool aid.

No, again I think I've covered this. I am only interested in why MU fans (presumably Wade fans) would get sick of Wade. I don't think his behavior/play on the court is so egregious that a longtime fan would suddenly decide, "you know what, that Wade is a dirty player and a whiner, I'm going to stop liking him."

BTW, the fact that you can only cite two writers and the mysterious un-named, collective "talk radio / fan bases", indicates to me that your view of Wade isn't as widespread as you make it out to be. In fact Mike and Mike had Doyel on their show to take him to task about his over the top portrayal of Wade. Tim Legler flatly denied the idea that Wade is a dirty player on ESPN radio as well. He went on to explain that he hasn't heard that point of view from any of the players he talks to.

Perhaps he hasn't had the time to do a complete survey.  ::)

For the record-
I'm not a Bulls fan,
not a basher of Crean,
could care less about Lebron's decision..
and I still am in the group that is disappointed with what I have seen from Wade in recent years...

I really think you are off base with this.  I love Wade, and quite frankly am grateful for what Crean did for MU...

Yes, his leaving in the middle of the night was a magnificent gift. The fact that he managed the transition as he did solidified his reputation as a gutless, vainglorious a$$.

Not to turn this into a Crean thread; although there clearly aren't enough of those :-).

But no, I was more referring to the whole "bringing us back to national prominence and the only final four in my lifetime" thing...

But the point was more to the poster who keeps insisting all the Wade comments are either from Butt hurt Bulls fans or Crean haters, and I am neither!

Blackhat

Weewee may need the perma-ban for this thread title.   Wade is the greatest thing to happen to MU basketball in my lifetime.
