Drake transfer.  Averaged 16.5 ppg as a true freshman.  6'4" shooting guard.

Boy it seems like someone is going somewhere (or someone isn't showing up) for MU to be named with all of these transfers.

Is MU in play for him? Didn't see any MU mention in the CBS article.

Actually, he was a sophomore.  "The Champaign, Ill. native averaged a team-high 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds as a freshman at Drake." (from Rivals)
You actually have a degree from Marquette?

No...and after reading many many psosts from people on this board that do...I have to say I'm MUCH better off, if this is the type of "intelligence" a degree from MU gets you. It sure is on full display I will say that.

It was mentioned in the tweet.
"Among the schools front and center for Drake transfer Rayvonte Rice: Kansas State, Marquette, Purdue, Missouri and Illinois"

Ahh, got it. Attention to details on my end would have helped.

Ah...thanks.  I misread the article.

As do we all at times, thanks for passing on the information.

I would like to get him. It sure seems that someone isnt coming in next year or that someone is transferring. Lots of MU buzz around latest transfers.

Based on various Scoop reports...

- Durley is going to juco/prep school
- Jamail is transferring
- Juan is transferring
- DWil is transferring
- Mayo is going pro

Buzz has 5 schollies to fill. He better get to it!

You're wrong.  SMU has seven open schollies.

Don't forgot that THEultimateWARRIOR is quick to want any recruit, and then start the speculation on who won't be here.

Earl Tatum

Lockett would make a great addition if can play in 2012.

bamamarquettefan

I wonder if Nolan is where davante was 2 years ago - having chosen mubbutbwaiting to see if the spo is open with someone in the wings like davante with Usf.

Durley is our lowest rated incoming player, but so was DJ newbill and he turned out to be awesome.

Sounds like too many good players are interested in coming to MU, which sure beats the 3 amigos and lazar waiting every year for someone good to sign up and help them.
The www.valueaddsports.com analysis of basketball, football and baseball players are intended to neither be too hot or too cold - hundreds immerse themselves in studies of stats not of interest to broader fan bases (too hot), while others still insist on pure observation (too cold).

I know you guys like to make fun of the situation, but this makes like 6 guys we are on while being 1 scholarship over.

Not necessarily. None of us have any idea what is going on behind the scenes. Has someone already decided to transfer and informed Buzz, but wants to finish out the school year before announcing? Has one of our recruits discovered the need to pursue the JUCO route because of academic troubles but is finishing his HS school year to see what options are best for him? We have no idea.

And being in on 6 guys for 1 scholarship (if the staff knows of one that will be available) is no big deal. You always want options, because the odds in any recruiting scenario is that you are going to get a whole lot more "no" answers than you will "yes" ones. So you put yourself out for many guys in the hopes that when all is said and done, you can accept the best option out of the couple guys that actually want your scholarship.

My only concern right now is if there is a transfer, who might be on the way out. It's easy to point the finger at someone who isn't getting a lot of minutes, but might there be other reasons? Maybe a player who just isn't as happy as he thought he'd be? Or a guy that is being encouraged to explore other options because of off-court issues? Starters and even potential stars transfer from other schools, there's no reason it couldn't happen to us as well.

The voice of reason, this is what I think is exactly going on!

QuoteMike Damone: I mean don't just walk in. You move across the room. And you don't talk to her. You use your face. You use your body. You use everything. That's what I do. I mean I just send out this vibe and I have personally found that women do respond. I mean, something happens.
Mark Ratner: Well, naturally something happens. I mean, you put the vibe out to 30 million chicks, something is gonna happen.
Mike Damone: That's the idea, Rat. That's the attitude.
Mark Ratner: The attitude?
Mike Damone: Yeah! The attitude dictates that you don't care whether she comes, stays, lays, or prays. I mean whatever happens, your toes are still tappin'. Now when you got that, then you have the attitude.
