Would anybody like to wager that Marquette's disastrous experiences with our nickname came up during this entire transition? I'm going to go out on a limb and and suggest Rebels...in association with the deep South, with a former mascot suggesting Southern plantation owners...is 1000x more offensive than a name paying tribute to the proud and fierce Native Americans.

So what did Ole Miss do? They kept their name and changed their mascot. What a novel concept (although they should have gone with a riverboat captain).

It's actually not bad....though the bird is there, I don't think of Golden Eagles because of the name association.

Love it....of course human beings are entirely INCAPABLE of disassociating the Warriors name with Native Americans as we've been told. Completely impossible.

Haha nah. I couldn't concentrate at work with Madness tonight so I distracted myself with non-offensive warrior logos.

The new eagle logo looks better than the original eagle logo because it has a better fit and looks more fierce.  Also the warrior logo has a face so I thought the eagle face would be a better fit.
