God I hope we lay the wood to UW the way we did to Baylor tonight. A 25 point win over Madison would taste very sweet!

Wisc. is a game for another day and it will have it's own challenges. Keeping focus and perspective is key for this team to win the next game. I look forward to their success.

25 against those sloths ain't gonna happen. Whole different game against these nerds, might need a whole different approach. Let's see what Shaka comes up with.
If UW holds on to beat Wake tonight, then there may be some Top 25 implications on the line Saturday.
String 2 dominant performances together. That's what a good team would do. Gotta be good.
Get a stop now! Go Deaks!

You know, Badger fans were the first people to jump up and down to Jump Around. Prior to the scholars at Camp Randall making such an epic change to sports rah-rah songs, the preferred dance amongst the kids was to do the "stanky leg" to that song. Strange but true.

Not that I needed any more reasons to hate the Badgers!!! But today, heading home from some errands, and had been listening to Homer on ESPN Radio. Wellllll.... On comes Brust and Scalszo(sp?) ... Well Brust says he's coming to the game with his girlfriend , who happens to be a MU Alum. He told her she can NOT wear MU attire, becuz he played for UW and that would be like spitting in his face ! ! ! OMG I couldn't believe he actually said that. They were taking calls to see if he was right or not... I turned it off so I can't report what was said by the listeners... What an arrogant POS ! ! ! Disclaimer: I NEVER listen to those 2 guys... just happen to hear them as i was parking the car !!!
My hate for the Badgers has varied over the years, from complete hate to modest hate to complacency. That said, the closer we get to playing them every year the complete hate always rises to the surface. I do not want to just beat them on Saturday, I hope that we blow them out of the gym.
I am leaning from going winning handily to predicting an ass whopping. This is the time to establish that MU is the premier basketball program in Wisconsin.

Who's the blood traitor that's so desperate to date an athlete she stopped to UW bball players?
Also that's a dbag move if he's actually serious and not just trying to stir the pot. I mean she absolutely has every right to spit in his face with that. He made the decision to date an MU alum that doesn't suddenly mean she's invalidated as a person wtf.

Great question. I will think about my list. I do a funny a story on the topic, Dan Hastings was a guy from Philly and I hated him as a Badger. Twenty years later his son was a teammate of my son in youth hockey and I avoided him big time. First road trip for hockey he and I drank a hundred beers over the weekend and talked basketball all weekend. I saw him at wedding a few weeks ago, drank a few cocktails with him and we talked MU-UW basketball for a long time.
He remains high on my list of most hated Badgers, but he is a fantastic guy. He is basketball junkie and I want to be crying in his beer on Saturday.

F*cking Dutch...
Favorite MU vs UW games:
1) 2017: Markus Rowsey and Sam just hit another 3 82-63 and it wasn't that close
2) 2018: Marrow OT block
3) 2020: Lewis Put back
4) 2012: W at home (really made me less worried about losing DJO & Crowder)
5) 2011 W @ at the kohl center (Mayo goes off iirc) huge win and cool to see an unexpected star but we were expected to win.

This is my #1 and we weren't expected to win. They were #9 and we were #16. Pre-game was electric around the Kohl Center, and Marquette fans were LOUD. Junior was suspended for the game but Derrick and Vander took turns harassing Jordan Taylor.
That game included one of my favorite Jae stories. UW would do the "alternating" player announcement before the game. Jae was announced, and waited at mid-court for I believe Jarred Bergeren, who was dancing and slap of fiving, etc. etc. etc. as he was announced. After awhile, Jae basically said "f*ck this," turned around and walked back to wait for his teammates. None of the other MU players went to center court and the crowed booed them each time. The UW players would go and do a fake handshake anyway. (My recollection was that Chicos was aghast by MU's behavior, but whatever...)

Better memory than me. I was at the game and very intoxicated so don't recall most of that I just remember my cousin (UW student) was giving a million excuses why they weren't going to win before tip off so that's probably why I recalled us being favored. Thanks for correcting me.

1) 2007: 81-76 road victory. Dom spike block, Jerel shooshes the crowd, Dom stares down Trevon Hughes
My freshman year at MU. We bought tickets on the secondary market and they were 10 rows up in their student section. Since we were used to GA tickets for the student section we figured we'd go 2 hours early like we would at the Bradley Center and take it all in. We had made a sign with the infamous Brian Butch picture and were carrying it with us. We go to walk in and the doors are locked. They tell us they don't open until 90 minutes before tip, and that they don't allow signs in. So we go somewhere, give the sign to the tallest guy in our group, he goes to the bathroom and wraps it around his leg. Get into the Kohl Hole, get to our seats, and nobody is in there until 10 minutes before tip. Keep the sign under our seats, with about a minute left I think we kind of had it in the bag. Brought out the sign with the "We Are Marquette" chants and thought we might get murdered. Dom murders Hughes, buzzer sounds, team runs from the other end of the court to their student section right by us and celebrates a bit. Run across campus to our friend's dorm, show up at his door, and he's already been drinking because of what MU just did.
Last year wasn't quite as fun...
There is nothing better than a butt whooping in the Kohl Center with "We Are Marquette" chants ringing through the arena!
Lets get this W! We need the crowd to be rowdy!

I was asked once not to wear MU spirit wear to a game. There was a sales rep I worked with in Chicago that knew I was a Marquette fan. He told me that he could get me great seats to the DePaul game at the Allstate Arena, but the one rule was that I couldn't wear any Marquette gear. The owner of the tickets would be pissed if he saw on TV that there were Marquette fans sitting in his seats.
I agreed (but I wore all black as a sort of protest), and it was completely worth it. They were basically the DePaul equivalent of the courtside Dick Strong seats, and I sat next to Steve Kerr.

I was ready to be triggered, and that was the most milquetoast clip I've seen.
Gadgets are a good farm team of eigth graders.

Oh well, I don't seem to have as much time as you to read 80 posts per thread

Giggle a little bit??
I have always thought that piece was and still is the funniest chit ever seen on a basketball message board ANYWHERE!!!!

I don't care how many times that's posted, it gets funnier every time.

I'll go:
1) Davison and it's not even close
2) Ben Brust
3) Jordan Taylor
4) Sam Dekker
5) Alando Tucker
Who is Ben Brust but yet another 35 year old dude who doesn't quite know what to do with his Tennis Court Management Degree from the UW, so he became one of 85 part-time "sportscasters" roaming around Madison hoping someday to say something relevant.
Did people forget about Zak Showalter? I think I'd probably go:
Davison
Koenig
Dekker
Bruzewitz
Showalter

Brust moved to number two because I periodically make the mistake of listening to him on the radio. He is dating an MU grad and is making her wear a badger shirt to today's game. He loves to take shots at MU

Anothe badger basketball player using his degree to follow his dream of talking to an audience numbered in the hundreds on the radio
While I'll admit Butch is a much better color commentator than I would have ever believed he could be, the Brust radio show is simply terrible sports radio. It's like you are just listening to to random college guys who have nothing either intelligent or funny to say.
In fact, it could be honestly said, MU cheerleaders make much better sports radio hosts than Badger basketball players

Both are correct takes.
This thread has probably gotten Brust more exposure than his actual radio show.

At least Sam Dekker has something to look forward to.

Too white, Buzz a woke phony cowboy
They played a great 2nd half but were completely outmatched when Red 23 was on the court.
2 different levels of teams there today. Overall happy we didn't get blown out when it looked to be headed that direction.
