Juan Anderson may not have been one of the greatest players in school history, but here he's definitely a warrior.
A classic post-game shot of the 1977 championship team.

Not the best resolution, but love the way this photo captures the way Dominic James played. You can almost see how blazingly fast he was, as if the photographer could barely keep him in frame.
Classic unis, classic Al.
Al and his crew. Love this shot. Hank's expression, his arm around Rick, the way they're clinging to each other in excitement and anticipation. Awesome.

Love this picture. Was my freshman year at MU and was sitting about 10 rows up in the middle of UW's student section with 2 of my buddies. We snuck in a sign (they apparently don't allow signs in the Kohl Hole?) of Brian Butch in his bra about him becoming a McD's employee after the season.
I believe this picture was basically at the buzzer, and we won the game by 5 or 7 or something. James could've just let him take the shot uncontested and it wouldn't have mattered, but he said get the eff out of here. Buzzer sounded and half the team ran down to the other end of the court to give the few MU fans in the student section a shout.

I wish there was video of this dunk. Our seats were in 410, across the way. I watched him drive baseline, saw where he took off (with Badiane going to contest) and thought "there's no f*cking way."

BTW, he was Glenn then. I was in two classes with him, and none of us called him Doc. Majerus gave him the nickname but only occasionally called him by that, and rarely in public.
I used to see him in Chicago for games vs the Bulls (when he was both player and coach), and I'd address him by Glenn, just for old time's sake.
This is special. '77 last second shot ...Whitehead, over Cornbread Maxwell.
My bro worked in TV and a thermal fax wire photo came in to the TV station (to my knowledge---it was never published in any newspaper)....taken by a photog below the basket as the ball left Whiteheads hand. Note at the top the clock shows 1 second. At the bottom, Al autographed it for my bro (b-day present from bro to me) and Al looked at the photo for a prolonged moment, smiled to my brother, and AL said..."I guess this proves it"...(ie that the shot was good)
I am very sorry this is such bad quality...but this is sealed under a montage frame with others (about 36" by 30") and I had to scan right from the framed pic and convert to jpeg. In person the pic with the ball out (whitehead's empty hand) and the one second on the clock are clear as day...I guess this proves it. lol
Its very special to me, and I am so very glad to share it here

didn't you once post that cool pic of the Bumblebees taken in front of a fountain near City Hall? I can't find the image, but it is very cool. If it wasn't you, my bad. Does anyone have access to that pic?
Wasn't me, sorry.

Scary and sad how many former ballers have since departed, ai na?
Musta been something in the water in the Abbotsford.

Can't think of a better pic (outside of hoisting a national championship trophy) than this one of Wade dunking over a 7 footer. Got this one blown up and framed.
My buddy took this picture while sitting on the baseline. I remember him saying to me when we got to the car after the game "I think I got a good one."
That pic was the origination of my love affair with #3.
PM'ed you.

I had never seen that circle MU logo before.
Al looks like he's part of a GQ shoot in those lakefront photos. Very dapper.
At the time this photo was taken, nobody would have guessed that 3 of them would go on to the NBA (including 2 first-round draft picks).

Neither had I. First thing i thought: 'huh, Wu-Tang were Warrior fans'
Another nice shot of the bench really getting into the game.
Who wants it more?
I liked that logo so i recreated it.

Kinda looks like an early version of da universal power button. Once again da Warriors were innovative and ahead of da curve, ai na?

Thanks sweet. I wouldn't mind that logo on the back of a hat.
You Da Man, Sweet!
Love the Logo!

That's an awesome pic. It's like sighting some rare, exotic species: The Davante Gardner Double-Crested Dunk.
A couple more photos celebrating the national championship. Gotta dream big, right?
40 years ago and this still doesn't get old for me.
This entire thread basically makes me want to hug all of you very tightly.
Oh man.
This was an awesome game!

It's been a very long time since someone patrolled the paint in such an intimidating way as Faisal did.

That shot of Faisil is incredible. His arms look like they're about to explode.

I've been trying without luck to find a photo of Big Mac blocking a shot while at Marquette. He is the school's career leader, after all. In any case, here are a few I ran across in the process.
Pretty cool uniform. I honestly didn't remember the blue-white color scheme.
Ah, UAB. The good old days of — what conference was that? The Conference USA conference?
Not at all sure what championship they're celebrating. Perhaps the M&I Classic (or whatever our pre-conference tournament used to be called).
Found a couple pics of my first favorite recruit from the Kevin O'Neill era: Ron Curry.
High flyin', gravity defyin'.
If any photo captures the anticipation and quickness that Vander brought to the court, this is it.
Automatic.
This one's so iconic, I'm surprised it hasn't been posted already. (Unless I missed it.)
The perils of going inside against Chris Otule.
