UK gets the top overall seed...safe to say, no surprises so far ;D
I'm already sick of these jokers!
No flash on the ipad
Is this another prediction contest?
I predict UK gets the one. Oh wait...
Crean vs Alford
nice. should be a good game.
Alford's UNM. IU's playing State.
IU legend takes out IU phony. Is Alford's number retired?
Jeez. Seth Davis just said South Dakota St will be beat Baylor and Wichita St will beat Indiana. Wow.
I hope I am wrong, but I have a feeling we are gonna get a 4.

Yup.
They just accidentally showed the Warriors didnt they?
Pitino pulls the 4
Looked like they accidentally just showed the boys waiting for the seed.
3 Baby!
Good draw so far
3 in Louisville v Iona/ByU
Nice - playing a play-in!
Murray St in Louisville in round 2. Ick.
Stating the obvious... only issue is playing Murray State in their home state.

30-1 in second round??? ugh
A play-in winner? And they gave at large's to 14 seeds. Interesting. To the Eww! Center we go. Got the Murray State draw people were talking about.
Can't bitch
And then Missouri if chalk holds. It ain't gonna be easy, but it can be done.
A potential Mizzou matchup. Who didn't guess that one coming?
The NCAA got it's matchup of two running teams if they win. MU and Murray. Tough one there in Kentucky, the NCAA looking for a new Cinderella.
MU wins two then its Mizzo and OH BOY what a game that would be if MU is on.......
Nice job guys getting that #3......
Murray State has not pplayed a tough team all year... not worried...
We really cannot bitch. Louisville travels to Portland for winning the BE.
I truly got everything I was hopping for
3 seed
Chance to expose Murray state
Possible matchup with Mizzou (gonna be a great game)
In region with MSU 1 seed
Now we just have to win Thursday

Tough game. Funny though. Every 1 seed has a tough third round so far.
Final Four potential. I'm followin' Goose and dreamin' big
Definitely nice having MSU as 1. They really don't have a dominant big man that can expose our shallow front court.
WI v Montana. I got the under all day.
You are the best 4ever...why not dream big? I've got nothing else to do the next few weeks but watch ball, may as well be winning ball.
Advantage is we get the winner of the very last two at-large teams in. Disadvantage is that team will already have won a game and we don't know who we play until late Tuesday. We're much better than both of those teams though.
And speaking to Murray not having played anyone...wouldn't completely rule out Colorado State yet.
Sweet matchup for the Badgers, Montana then Vandy. They have work to do to make it out of the first weekend.
It is lowest #1, highest #2, lowest #3 correct? So we just held onto that #3 seed.
Wisc versus Vandy - will take Vandy...
Murray State may not make it to MU....
Crap, was hoping the WVU Hillbillies didn't get in...
Yo, had we won the BE Tourney we'd have been a 2 seed.
Go Montana

Not sure where we landed since Syracuse is the 1. Isn't it a rule that two teams in the same conference seeded 1-4 can not be in the same region? Sure we could have been in SU's region and get bumped down, right?

They generally try to balance 1's and 2's, and then overall balance, not necessarily each seed down the line. At least that's my understanding.

I agree on the Florida Mizzou matchup. Will be tough or Mizzou to win that one. But let's just make sure we make it to that sweet 16 matchup.
I don't like the fact that the team we face will have one game under their belt.
What happens after a big layoff? The recent Louisville debacle.

Machado is best PG in the country.
Cadougan will really, really have his hands full on that one coming off the debacle against Siva.
I have tickets in Omaha and will root for Mizzou upset. They are not deep at all but their first 6 are really tough....if they are on, they can beat anyone (I guess in this tournament that is true for anyone). If we get them and can run them, they tire. But, they scare me as their guard play is really really tough. Not a lot of height so we may match up fairly well and whomever is hitting the 3s could be the difference. I love MU's draw in round 1 and frankly, I think we have a great draw to the sweet 16. To me, if we are not playing the second week it will be a failure. I know Murray State is a nice story, good team and is playing in their home state, but, we should be the chalk. I was worried about playing belmont in round one. Anyway, it is there for us to make back to back sweet 16s and then let it play out from there. Whoever said it earlier was dead on....if we won the BEast tourney...the two seed was there for the taking.
Let the madness begin!
Marquette #10 rank in s curve. Msu 4, missou 8, Louisville 16. Pretty good situation
Was MU the best 3 seed? They just said the committee put Missouri is the lowest 2 and MU is playing the worst at large team.
We were the 2nd 3 seed.

The other issue is that you get less time to scout your opponent.
I'd rather see Buzz focus on one team for a solid three days then split time until Tuesday night at 23.17 and only have one day to really get dirty with it.

They are faced with the same. The one difference is that Buzz and the team can watch them play each other knowing we get the winner.

Too many people focused on Round 2 and (potentially) Murray State. Since I'm not on the team, I'm permitted to look ahead to the next game(s):
Murray State hasn't played anyone of significance. They are probably stronger than a #6 seed, but MU is clearly the better team here. At the risk of sounding cliche, only Marquette can beat Marquette in Round 3. Then:
Are you kidding me? Our path the the Final Four is potentially Mizzou and Michy State?!? The weakest #1, the weakest #2, and we don't have to see KY, NC, Duke, or OSU until New Orleans.
Don't count out NFSU against Mizzou.... MU and MU are composed very much the same; Kyle O'Quinn is going to give them fits just like he did to us in Charlotte Amalie.

QuoteIona will reach the Round of 32: I don't agree with the Gaels' inclusion. Washington and Drexel had stronger arguments. But just because many don't believe they belong doesn't mean that they won't prove critics wrong. I think the Gaels, who own the No. 1 scoring offense in the country (83.3 ppg), are dangerous. To reach the third round in the West Region, the Gaels will have to get through BYU in Dayton and Marquette in Louisville. Mark it down. The Gaels are playing a pair of shaky defensive teams. They have three NBA-level talents in Scott Machado, Michael Glover and Lamont "Momo" Jones. As much I thought Iona didn't have a case for a slot in the field of 68, I think the Gaels can show doubters that they're worthy.

The average seed is also deceiving, because the Big East gets knocked in that category for teams like UConn, WVU, and USF making the field, while a league like the B1G gets overinflated because their next-level teams (Illinois, Northwestern, Minnesota) weren't good enough to get in. If the B1G had landed the 9 bids they were touting back in February, their average seed would have come up lower than the Big East's, but because those teams weren't as good as advertised, it actually makes that league look better when the opposite is the case.
18 hours to think, sleep, digest, etc. the bracket. My thoughts:
1) I am still stoked about MU's draw. As a #3 seed, it doesn't get better... stronger teams 4-14, weaker teams at 1 & 2. I'll take that any day.
2) Of the 58 team seeded 5-16, there is only one team that can beat Kentucky... and that team happens to be the 9-seed in their region.
3) I woke up this morning liking NFSU vs. Mizzou even more. In a bracket competition that gives credit for picking upsets, I'd take UCONN to the S16 and NFSU to the third round.
4) No easy paths in the south. KY vs. UCONN in round three, and then 50% of the teams that beat them this year in the S16. Duke is always a tough out, but Baylor could be a headache. UNLV could give Baylor fits. IU vs. Kentucky and Duke back-to-back. And Kentucky and Duke has epic struggle written all over it. It may not be the strongest region from top to bottom, but it's a potential match-up nightmare for everyone.
5) The draw for the Big ? suck rhino. Possibilities: OSU vs. WVU on their "home" court. Ohio over Michigan (sexy upset on the circuit). Wisconsin vs Festus. IU vs. could-have-been-a-3-seed Wichita State, and I still have yet to find someone picking MSU out of the west. Purdue may actually go as far as, or further than, three of their five conference brethren.
6) The Big East draw aren't that far behind on the spectrum of suck. MU vs. MU has Bizarro World written all over it (although the winner likely goes to Nola). Cincy vs. Texas is like a schizo competition. Cuse (potentially) having to go through KSU then Vandy then OSU would be the resiliency test of a lifetime for Fab Melo. Belmont over GTown is another sexy upset pick. BTW - Thanks for winning the BET, Losers; your prize, an all-expense paid trip to PORTLAND.
At least the Bulls are smiling... for now.
7) Who is happy? The mid-majors. I'll be shocked if Wichita St isn't in Atlanta next week. X has to feel good about their upset bid vs. ND. Same with Memphis and their first two opponents. I'd take 2:1 on Temple being in St. Louis, and Murray State may have been slighted on their seed, but they've got to love the opportunity to play either MU or Iona/BYU on a "home" floor. I'm putting the over/under on mid-majors in the S16 at six.
