Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
That tweet plus his arrogant press conference after the game really leave a bad taste in my mouth for a player I used to really like. He's kind of a d bag.
He's right, Marquette ain't crap. After all, we're the ones who won the game. Pretty obvious to me that Bucky IS crap.
Without Leuer and Nankivil #jordantayloriscrap
Complete douche bag. Now harassing him over twitter. Hope he responds. He's been a non-factor in two straight losses. How could he talk any crap?
Hahaha I am doing the same thing MUStudent...kid won't respond he is taking credit for a football team win. I forgot we played them in the Big 10 championship tonight...haha
I got a ton of crap from my uw buddies today before the game. Then it slowed down after the game started, and I got a lot of texts and heard a lot as they made their 2nd half run, and a few said good game and a few half hearted "good luck the rest of the way" after the game, but nothing is sweeter than posting this and rubbing it in all their faces.

Uhh, yeah. Rose Bowl doesn't mean squat anymore, champ.
Rose Bowl=Exhibition game
The only real game is the Championship game.
Ummm....last I checked, Marquette beat Wisconsin in a basketball game on Saturday, December 3rd. I heard that the Wisconsin football team also played that day and won the Big Ten Championship.
To ALL you knuckleheads who keep confusing the two: Please knock it off as you just sound stupid. Wisconsin controls the silly and irrelevant Bowl Greed Series about as much as the current Warrior student body controls a varsity football program that was discontinued in 1962.
I heard this same crap when I was Marquette in the 70s. Can we stop the "So's your old man..." grade school taunting and just say on a topic? Of course not. But I just wanted to say it.
I'm sure Coach Ryan has jammed Jordan's phone somewhere special so his Senior Leader can resume his role as a basketball player now that his short stint in the PR dept has come to an end.... ::)
It's pretty simple -- Jordan Taylor demonstrated a maturity issue at the nooz conference and in his Twitter message. You think Buzz would put up with that without calling out a player? I think Bo Ryan probably has had or will have a talk with Taylor about his actions.
Congrats to Bucky on the Rose Bowl trip. The team was 2 blocked punts away from a trip to the National Chmpionship game. Russell Wilson is a truly special player and individual.

Blue was fronting him and jawing him a little bit on an inbounds pass. Taylor was talking back and both started getting in one another's face.
I just find it amazing that Blue (and others) got in Taylor's head.
think it was over the line on either side? Don't get me wrong, I think trash talk is totally acceptable on the floor (though I've always been more a fan of the almost psychotic-silence as a substitute for trash talking) so I'm cool with however it went down. I was just wondering if anyone with delicate sensibilities would say Vander was taunting or Taylor was taunting or whatever.
I personally don't have much of a problem with talking - it's part of the game IMO. However if I am Taylor, I would react just as you suggest. But he didn't...and the tweet shows that MU got in his head severely.
MU was incredibly mentally tough yesterday. Yeah I can see why UW fans would think that the lack of greeting in the introductions was classless...and the talking was classless...but whatever. This isn't some youth basketball league.

It started when Taylor shoved Blue as he was guarding him when the ball was to be inbounded. After the shove, both got in each other's face and the ref came in and had his 5 minute conference with the both of them.
Also, not related to the incident, but was it just me or does Taylor initiate a lot of the contact when he is dribbling? I was getting nervous early on when we got called for defending most of those ball screens, but thought Taylor was the one initiating all the contact.
He was initiating a ton of contact. He also had the low blow on crowder. I have no respect for taylor as a player, especially since wiscy played their best ball with him on the bench.
Jordan Taylor hasn't lived up to his pre-season billing. And he obviously needs a lesson in sportsmanship.

Taylor does initiate contact, but that's one of the things he does well. Think of DJO getting guys on the head fake to draw fouls, or one instance yesterday that Mayo almost went into a guy to draw a foul on a layup even though he could have avoided the contact entirely. Having the bball IQ and body control to initiate contact to put fouls on defenders and avoid them yourself is a high-level skill.
STAY CLASSY, BUCKY!

I don't remember if it was Taylor dribbling or someone else but do you guys remember when D Wilson got THE MOST ticky tack hand check foul I've ever seen out past the 3 point line in the second half. Yes!!!! I almost fell out of my chair! The only call that comes close to that bad was the ref who T'd up DJO last year at Georgetown for yelling "count it motherf*cker!" in celebration. I've always wondered what the T threshold for things coaches say is. I mean short of tossing a chair, which is fairly obvious, how many mother-f-ers can one coach say before drawing a T?

That call was terrible, but even worse was a hand check they called on Jamail Jones 45 feet from the hoop. Jamail barely touched Taylor (I think or maybe it was Gasser), but it was a JOKE. They called another one on Vander getting over the top of a screen and their was slight contact and Taylor pushed Vander with his off arm, and they called Vander. Then the phantom 3 Seconds in the lane on Otule was Hightower bush league. Truly, you are practically playing from down 10-15 points at the Kohl with Hightower on the court..
To be fair, he made a couple bad calls against UW too. I thought the entire game was reffed bizarrely.
Taylor apparently seems to not get it. He keeps on saying basically that its only one tweet and not a big deal. Obviously a leader and role model for others he is not.

Totally agree, but those two fouls 40 feet from the hoop when the badgers weren't even dribbling made me think someone had money on the game or something. Just jaw droppingly bad. There were bad calls in MU's favor too.
I actually got a response after I called him overrated. He told me to lighten up. Admittedly my throwing in the term for a female dog took it a little far, but whatever, he is a sore loser and I feel he is overrated. Very good player, but don't think he is first team all-american.
As for that three second call, I think it was a makeup call for the travel that they didn't call on Jamil Wilson. It looked like when Wilson picked up his dribble, he took an extra step. It was an awkward looking play from Jamil so he may not have traveled, but that was my take. The 3-second call was after we kicked it out, so I figured Eddie was making up for that missed call. The hand check 45 feet from the basket was comical. I couldn't believe it.

I was at the Xavier game last year and fortunate enough to be very close to the floor. I recall watching some of the X guys trying to talk trash to vander early in the game. Blue, as a freshman, held his own in the verbal battle and appeared to get in their heads instead...especially Holloway.

I'd like to know this as well, didn't get to see it and can't find it online.
Some of you have asked what he said at the presser and he didn't say much, it's what he didn't say and the way he said it that made him come off as very arrogant and immature.
He was asked about three different times (in different ways) what Marquette did to be successful and he refused to give MU any credit saying it was just UW missing open shots and kept referencing how this is the same MU team they beat last year. Ryan Evans and Josh Gasser on the other hand were very complimentary of the team and were willing to admit the things MU did well in the game.

I have a feeling he's just bitter he didn't declare after last year. He has far less help this year and teams can focus their defensive efforts on him. Doubt he gets drafted now with all the talent coming out this year and his being exposed a bit.

I agree. Even the UW fans on twitter were much more vocal for a game that is supposedly unimportant to them.
Frankly, this is pretty weak coffee in terms of tameness. I enjoy the back and forth banter as, in the end, it is great to have a historical OOC rivalry with two great hoops programs. Beats DePaul vs. Loyola, and it adds to the fun of it.

But really, if you had the chance to get to know him, he's a great guy, from a great family, with a great head on his shoulders. Both were bad calls. One was Taylor's fourth which forced him on the bench. The other on Blue was during the Badger run at crunch time so it was a big bad call as well.
Another difference is Taylor's should have been a no call while the other should have been a and 1. You can't just do the splits in front of the rim to play good defense.

Taylor was a second team all-american last year already... definitely outplayed by DJO and Mayo yesterday, though.

I really don't care what Taylor tweeted or said. His game did enough talking for me. He is their Senior leader and when they needed him to lead, his passed up shots and turned the ball over. That's all the talking I care about.
This is what I took away as well. Was waiting for Taylor to step up and earn all that summer hype placed on him and he failed at every juncture. Really surprised me. He looked disinterested at times, he looked slow compared to the MU guards, and mentally I thought he buckled.
If your favorite NBA team drafted Taylor in the second round next June, would any of you be happy? I know I would not.

Let's see...
Todd Mayo, G 24 6-15 0-4 2-2 0 5 1 0 0 1 3 14
Jordan Taylor, G 30 4-10 0-2 5-6 3 5 2 0 0 5 4 13
So mayo shot the same percentage, hit a better free throw percentage, had the same amount of rebounds, 4 less turnovers, less fouls and more points in 80% of the time than Taylor. The only thing taylor did better was 1 more assist, but his ratio was still worse.
Your "all-american" point guard got outplayed by a freshman (not a redshirt freshman like UW is used to, ours can play right out of the gate). Deal with it.
Don't understand all the animus and and angst towards OnWisconsin. They have been anything but confrontational or flaming. Very complimentary towards MU, as well. I think some of you need to back off a bit.
It's always a lot of fun to beat a rival. It's fun to enjoy the victory. I just don't see the point in dwelling on what other message boards/twitter is saying. I guess I never got into the anonymity on the internet so lets be confrontational thing.

Indeed. Andy jefferyweee - OnWisconsin admitted Taylor was outplayed by both guards.
I think the big part in this game was not having Leuer and Nankivil on court. While both of them could shoot from out, they also had more inside game than current Badgers big men. We're a bit bigger this year too. So, no Leuer to abuse us inside like he did last year was big. Bo runs a great squad with smart players, but the big men this year aren't quite as talented or experienced.
Taylor is a good player, just bitter about the loss. Feels good that he is upset, lol.

Nothing against you Ners, he's just a really good guy. :p

Okay so let me get this straight, you said something along the lines of "overrated, bitch." But it's Jordan Taylor with the problem?
As I've said before, Marquette flat out won the game. But I'll let you decipher your gem of a post.
Yea, I ended up deleting my tweet. I should have used different words. I honestly never expected him to see it. It was more for my friends that go to Madison who I have a friendly rivalry with. I shouldn't have tweeted it and give credit to him for deleting his.
However, that doesn't change the fact I think he's a sore loser and overrated. I'm also not the face of the team that just got beat and the pre-season all-american. To not give much credit to Marquette was sour grapes.
Like I said earlier, he is a very good player on a very good team, but I don't think he is a first-team all american now that teams won't look to stop leuer and focus on him.
Time to walk away, gents. A competitior immediately after a tough loss tweeted something mildly inappropriate. He has stepped away. So should we.

Taylor is up and tweeting again.
:didn't know I had so many Marquette followers. They obviously got a good team. just glad their fball team won and tryin to have some fun ha:
Ha! I saw that. No, Taylor, you don't have that many Marquette followers. You just happened to post something on what's referred to as the "Internet" where information is disseminated at rapid speeds, all over the world. This is something that should be kept in mind when deciding what you choose to write down.
I saw the tweet only through Cracked Sidewalks or Anonymous Eagle, can't remember which. Oh well. Regardless of the team or its fans have to say, it's a great weekend to be a Golden Eagle :)
Wisconsin lost because not all their cheerleaders were there and the band was in Indianapolis. Two of the excuses their fans are using today.
Jordan Taylor is a kitten.

Depends if you consider the rose bowl coming up short, champ.
Considering you should be playing for a national championship but you wet yourself twice in two games, I'd say you came up short. The Big Ten will never be this awful again with Michigan, OSU, PSU all sucking at the same time. You had your perfect scenario, your transfer QB to play for it all and you wet yourself. Urine down the leg, on national tv. Twice. You will never have the chance again now that Meyer is at OSU, Penn State will finally go out and get someone under the age of 55, and Michigan on it's way back.
It was all there, and you came up short, champ. Life's opportunities don't come along very often, and you soiled yourself.
Go Oregon Ducks. Pull a TCU.

I don't event care if we're the Marquette "Cardinal" as long as MUBB keeps winning.

In all seriousness, students are very aware of the history of the Warriors, of course, but we decided to attend as Golden Eagles. Dwyane Wade and Wes Matthews are Golden Eagles. I embrace the history, and can even accept using "Warriors" on occasion, but I'm a Golden Eagle.

Wesley has called himself a Warrior on more than one occasion.
I am currently a Marquette student and will never call myself a Golden Eagle. Warriors forever. Given the opportunity to call yourself a Warrior, I don't understand why you would ever call yourself a Golden Eagle.
