Here we go! Time to figure out where the Warriors are headed. Thought I'd give us a place to discuss the entire draw. Pulling for a 7 or 10 seed, though expecting a 8/9. Either way, hoping we get a favorable draw so we can make at least the third round.
Ring out Ahoya!
Jay Bilas just said on ESPN that San Diego State should be a #1 instead of either Pitt or ND
?-(
Top seeds announced: tOSU, Kansas, Pittsburgh, and Duke.
No surprise that the Dookies, despite not really beating much of anyone and losing one of their best players to injury, still get favor from the SC.

Jay doesn't know what he wants. First, he says conference tourneys are over weighted, and should only count for determining auto bids. Then, he tweets this:
How does Notre Dame and Pitt gain a No. 1 seed over Duke by losing, Pitt doing so before Duke even played in the ACC Tourney? Odd math.
Duke not playing near NC??? How dare they!
Anybody else nervous? I am.
Those of you watching the NCAA selection show and listening to Barkley's hard hitting analysis need to watch this if you haven't already

I mean, come on, this guy has no idea what he's talking about when it comes to CBB.
Entertaining, yes, knowledgeable, no.
Barkley sucks. Entertaining, but sucks
Bilas is happy his Duke is a number 1 seed.
We must not be a bubble team, as they don't have a camera on us. Or no one wanted to spend a winter Sunday in Milwaukee.
Looks like they are starting with the East region. We won't have to wait and see if we are going against OSU or not.

Duke can still play the second and third round in Charlotte, and likely will.
Guessing the 2's...
East: UConn
Southeast: UNC
Southwest: Notre Dame
West: San Diego State
Not nervous. And yeah, Barkley does suck.
I enjoy determining that though Billy Donovan won 2 championships, we still must discuss if he is a good coach.

Don't worry, they'll get the SDSU/BYU draw as the 2/3 to make up for it. Unreal!
Due to TBS/TNT joining CBS, that is why Smith and Barkley are there. NBA guys, not college. Terrible. Switch to ESPN at 7 for good analysis.
Yes!
dodged a bullet!
Hope Nova kicks OSU's ass.
avoided OSU in Cleveland
Wasn't Nova projected at an 11?

I'm nervous. If for no other reason than 10 teams out of BEast would be a record, notwithstanding 11 chosen.
Clemson and UAB in, two of my last 6, feel pretty good about that. 'Nova will have their work cut out for them.

Yes!
Yeah that makes me happy, thinking we are going to be in the 7/10 game since we can't play pitt or duke.
btw UAB? didn't see that coming
Go Nova!
Georgia as a 10? Wow...that bodes well for our seeding. Same number of bad losses as us (0) but less quality wins.
Balls.
Xavier? Wow...11 seed...amazed that we might see Syracuse in the second.
Indiana St will have a lot of fans in Cleveland facing Syracuse
What?
WOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Xavier in Ohio.
Xavier/Cuse - LOVE IT!
5 Big East teams in the East? Doesn't it seem like things could be spread out a little better than that?
Dont like our draw at all.
Very suprised...possible SU in second round??
I think that's a relatively favorable draw. Not a bad location, Xavier is beatable, and Cuse has already been beaten.
Michigan an 8 seed and MU an 11? Complete joke. MU 5-12 against Top 25, UM 0-8 against Top 25.
Ugh. I'm not pleased. I know we can beat both of them, but... rough.
Happy to make it 6 years in a row.

How is it not a bad location? Aside from playing in XU's arena I can think of no worse location.
Like our draw. Xavier we can handle, they aren't the team they were last year, and we've already beaten Syracuse. Still, horrible work by the SC seeding so many teams in one region. You can tell they rushed that.
Cincy vs. Mizzou. That's gonna be wicked.
Cincy and UConn with a potential 2nd round match up as well.
cincy a 5?
Penn State gets a 10 and we get an 11? ?-(
WTF?
Clearly the SC is upset about putting 11 Big East teams in. They are setting it up so we all knock each other out early. MU/Syracuse in the 3rd round, now UConn/Cincy.
Also, 4 Big East teams in the East, not 5.
EDIT: socr, Cincy is a 6. How is Mizzou an 11?
Michigan getting an 8 seed and PSU a 10 surprised me.
Georgetown is in, lock up 11 bids for the Big East.
Illinois is a 9? GTFO. They shouldn't even be in the tourney

RPI was vastly difference....Michigan's RPI was much better than ours.

This is the best case I've ever seen for a drastic revamp of our non-conference scheduling. We have a much better resume than most of the teams I've seen on the 7-10 lines, but our RPI is a drag. Buzz and company
need to fix that for the future.

This looks to be another RPI pick to me. Penn State's RPI 39. MU's 64.
Michigan's RPI 52.
Whether it's right or wrong, the committee can always fall back on those numbers and say that's the reason.

Really...you take RPI (something that was invented before CD players, in case anyone was wondering) over the top teams someone beats? Hope that RPI Kool-Aid is refreshing.
Well, the Selection Committee clearly used RPI for seeding.
St. John's got a clear path to the Sweet 16. Gonzaga and BYU? Lock them up for second weekend action.
i haven't been paying attention to them, but does Florida deserve a 2?
Florida a 2? No.
It appears MU got little respect by the SC committee relative to the other seeds.
marquette a "last 6 team in"

Nope, especially after losing today.

No way. Kentucky beats them by 16 today, and gets a four?
And Colorado gets left out, but the K-State team they beat three times gets a 5 seed.
The Big Televen teams are mostly overseeded. Really, did Jim Delaney run the committee this year?
Worst. Selection. Committee. Ever.
Gene Smith from Ohio State was the head of the Selection Committee this year. Talking to Jim Nance right now.
He is completely avoiding answering any of the tough questions and the reasoning behind their choices

Yeah, plus Kennedy is injured. I think Gonzaga got themselves a pretty good draw.

Xavier advances just about every year. They are very solid, and have some very good guards. Shocked but don't mind an 11, but don't like facing X at all. They never seem to back down or come out timid in the tourney like many teams do.

The RPI's formula was readjusted in 2006...the year you graduated. Just sayin

I think we can finally put to rest the idea that the RPI is not used or greatly reduced. This is a classic year where it was used and not surprisingly I might add.
We need to a do a better job of scheduling these bottom teams. MU scraped in...thank God we beat WVU.
