Kolek planning to go pro
Enjoyed the Deadwood movie. It wasn't as good as the show -- a bit too much wrapped up with a bow, and sealed with a kiss -- and it wasn't even the best program I saw on HBO in the last week (Chernobyl was), but I am glad I watched it. Very entertaining.
Is Deadwood worth going back and watching? Never watched it, always heard good things but I've never had an HBO subscription, probably never will unless Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg FINALLY get around to doing the Band of Brothers - 8th Air Force series that's been talked about/rumored for like 6 years.
I do the Amazon 7-Day Trial every couple of months. Started on Friday, got caught up on Chernobyl and through most of Barry season 2. I'll hopefully complete those two and the last season of Crashing before cancelling on Friday.
Agree w all this; fun to see those characters and hear the crass poetry one more time. My only real complaint was the new character who sort of comes in out of nowhere and gets way too much screen time - I get the purpose, but she needed more time to develop in order to really work-hard to do that in 2 hours.
Previous post got me thinking, I now have what I think is a fun little challenge/game for those in this thread. My wife is scheduled to have our second kid on the 12th (if the woman is cool with it, scheduled C-Sections are the best) and I will have two weeks of paternity (will have two more weeks later in the year but more on that in a bit) to do the parenting thing while not working. Our son will be in daycare M-F as is typical to keep things as normal for him as possible, plus let us figure out this new born thing all over again. So having said all that, we'll have 7 days while we're both off that we can watch whatever during the day when our son is at daycare. So what should be on the binge list? Here are the perimeters: Has to be on Netflix, Amazon Prime, or Hulu with Ads. It can't be too Sci-fi cause my wife won't go for it. Can't be some huge morality narrative because I don't care, just want to be entertained not preached at.Already on the list is Season 5 of Breaking Bad (I know, I know). Might advocate for something like Deadwood. Going to try to talk the wife into Catch-22 on Hulu. I'd welcome any other thoughts.Side challenge, in September I'll have another two weeks off when my wife goes back to work where I'll hang with the daughter. Obviously going to run around town and do fun stuff that's easy to take a 3 month old to but there be some downtime during the week days, what shows would you recommend? Sci-fi is definitely in play (love shows like The Expanse and the BSG re-make, etc). Will have 10 days where I can fit in a show or two. Don't say GoT, have zero interest, I don't do dragons/fantasy.

Interesting
I think I just answered your maternity question...
That’s the new David Tennant one correct? Previews looked good.
Wow, I'm very concerned for Benny. Being able to mimic Myron Medcalf's writing so closely implies an oncoming case of dementia.
Interesting statement. Not sure I agree or disagree. I enjoyed Dr. Farmer’s Soviet Poli Sci class at MU and wish he was still around to opine on that. Chernobyl has been interesting to watch, even with the large latitudes the director has taken with the story (for example, the female scientist interviewing the victims in the hospital is an imaginary character). The costs to clean up were enormous and remain so, but their economy was already in tatters for a number of other reasons. Maybe it was the final straw to break the back of the camel?
Below Deck Med is back tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hi, Hannah!!!!!!!
She’s basically a composite of multiple female physicists. I guess it was easier to combine them all into one fir a 5 part series?
Just watched first 2 episodes of Dead to Me. Will come back for more. My wife and I liked it more than Fleabag; we didn't hate that but expected to like it more than we did.
It picks up, the first few are very foundational.
I hope the chef stays that awful all season.
I eat some nasty stuff, but those nachos.... nah.burgers and tacos.. mmm, what's next? She's crazy.
