Right, and it would require the complainant to identify the sincerely held religious beliefs they believe they are being discriminated against for holding. In this case, it would require Butker to acknowledge (or at least allege in a complaint) that the beliefs that triggered his dismissal were his beliefs regarding the role of women in society (etc). The NFL/KC would be able to pin him down and force him to either acknowledge that misyogny is his "sincerely held religious belief" or lose.

He, like everyone who wants to run to the rooftops to claim they are being cancelled, is holding up a shiny innocuous object and saying "look at how censorious and unreasonable everyone is being, silencing me for my beliefs" while refusing to acknowledge that the reason they are facing social consequences for expressing themselves is because the specific thing they expressed is worthy of social scorn.

Edit: Just to be clear, what my original point was is that it would be fun to watch Butker try to bring the discrimination claim because it would open him up to scrutiny that he does not want any more than the Chiefs want to answer the allegations. It would be amusing because he'd have to face, head on, the fact that the opinions that he is being criticized for are regressive, hateful, and not shared by the majority of society. He would fail in the effort that succeeds on twitter of conflating "I'm being canceled for being Catholic" with what he is actually being criticized for.

Ah, i understand what you were saying now.

Making excuses for thugs.  SMDH

Keefe taught me to never listen to nor respect firefighters so I am waiting for his Haiku on the matter before I comment.

Among his other winning attributes, Butker is in the "Jews Killed Jesus" camp.

There are multiple industries are producing well below actual demand right now because of too much inventory in the system that built up post pandemic and when the supply chain lengthened/were disrupted. Depending on your industry this has been happening since early 22 and has been very long.

Additionally gdp has been solely led by services for quite a while because of above dynamic and spending shifts back to trips, experiences etc.

So not a new phenomenon even if some new parts of the economy may be starting to see it now.

FWIW, one of our larger clients who is someone I track closely for our biz, and the general economy, just requested canceling or pushing out delivery on orders scheduled to arrive the USA in Aug-October. They supply parts to the big AG guys and auto industry, and they normally extremely sharp on their forecasting.  We have worked with this client since 2005 and this is the third time we have seen this type of request. The first time was in spring of 2008 and second time during the pandemic.

For the record, I am not saying this is doomsday on the economy by any stretch. Thought it was interesting because in the 19 years of working them only two times have suppliers not shipped them goods in a given month. Prior to these cancelations they have good shipped twelve months a year 16 out of the last 18 years. Will add, the request was made due to slowdowns with their customers.
Goose:
A company I am on the Board of has experienced similar pushing out of delivery for orders.

I have been on the Board for many years  and  similar to your experience , we saw this same customer behavior in Great Recession and  Pandemic.

An observation from this company is that much of the recent growth has come from customers getting their inventory in balance . Now that it is in balance and decent depth. Now that the customers can properly meet their needs , reorders are reflecting true underlying economic conditions.

A close family member ,who was in law enforcement for many years , said the exact same thing this morning when we discussed this . Said direct traffic in these situations is fraught with peril for all.

I worked some traffic deaths.  Chaotic.   Same with fires.  Or anything that disrupts the expected flow.  Rain and darkness and all sorts of unexpected flashing lights on a strange road lead to confusion.   I have seen many drivers make poor decisions thinking they were getting out of the mess.   And a few get tickets for it.   I think it is entirely possible both sides are telling the truth as they perceive it.    Scottie thought he was doing what he was told.   He wasn't.

Having said all that, back to the snark.
