Who will be our 1st New Big East Big Recruit?

I fear it will be at least until November before we get any commitments for a '14 recruit.

I think you will hear something before then.  But if we are going to make guesses, and I base this on no inside knowledge whatsoever, I'm going with Paul White.

If MU had a genie, It'd be Looney, but he's keeping his cards pretty close to his chest, from what I understand.

As it stands now...3.  To replace Blue, Jamil and Gardner.

If Otule returns this upcoming year, which would mean someone would have to go to make room for this fall, we would have 4.

Hope so. Sounds like he would be a perfect fit.

Need Otule back if they want to make a FF run. He's a solid defender at the rim, Gardner is not. Did Gardner block a shot this year?

Yes.  20 actually

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/51395/davante-gardner

Otule had 36

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/41082/chris-otule

CO gets shots altered, something overlooked in statlines.

I can't decide which number is more surprising to me. I would have guessed Otule would have more and Gardner would have less blocks than these numbers.

I bet Chris will decide to move on.  We will be fine with McKay and Steve T working with Devante and Jamil.  Hope Looney is our first new Big East recruit for 2014.

Looks like we're also recruiting his teammate LJ Peak. Maybe a package deal? He'd bring dreadlocks back to the Al.

If we get 2 from Whitney Young, they might as well bring along Okafor too!

I'm glad to hear that Buzz is in on some big recruits from Chicago.  Does he assign one assistant to primarily recruit areas such as Chicago?  Or does geography matter a lot for recruiting kids because of AAU?

I would assume that Chew is all over Chicago.

he's getting paid pretty good to do so as well iirc...when mu put up the bucks for him to come from illinois it made me feel better about buzz feeling supported.

Replacing Vander, Ox and Jamil???

I just wanted to be the first to say - we'll never be able to replace those three, we're screwed, it will be a purely rebuilding year, hello NIT.

Yeah, because we all know next year's recruiting class will be awful that year.

The PR that Buzz has gotten in the last 3 years have shown many recruits around the country that MU is now a destination to look at.  Wade, Butler, Mathews, McNeal, Hayward and
Novak, that is what the kids want to hear, they all have made some money in the NBA, and that is what the top 50-100 want to know about.  Once Al got the program going, recruiting
became easier and easier, it will be the same for Buzz.

as long as 4never is still making looney floss and brush after every meal he aint coming.  Plus, the DDS screwed up his grillz, which pissed off looney to no end.

moral of the story:  don't go to 4never, DDS for grillz.
