Anybody know what the lower bowl holds? By looking at pictures, it looks like it was about 80 percent full, while the upper deck had a couple hundred people. No doubt there was less than 10K at the game. I'll be interested to see what MU reports.

I know you're one of the harshest critics of the non conferece schedule, and to be honest I agree with you more than I disagree, but if MU has 10K on dec 30 against Savannah State, what's to complain about?  Being a Clipper season ticket holder, I've been to games with similar numbers. :(

If memory serves correctly, lower bowl holds about 8600 or so.  That means more than 10,000 in the upper bowl which also means 2000 or even 4000 in the upper bowl looks very empty.

I'd say actual butts in seats this year (and the past couple years) has been decent -- HOWEVER .. by observation, I submit that a good amount of the people at the games are not the owners of the seats .. i.e., STHs give away their tickets .. many specifically to children.  These OOC games have bucket loads of kids where adults will be sitting for BE games.

Crean has, to his credit, built a program that has buzz, has a nationally ranked team, and the BC games are a spectacle.  That increases a market for STHs to find takers for their OOC games .. (free, naturally.)

So .. to SoCalWarriors' point, while attendance of 14k is reported, and say, 7-9k butts in seats, of which many were given away from their actual owners .. the complaint is that those who are paying for the game aren't actually showing up (in numbers).
