So I was poking around on CSTV's recruiting pages, and kept noticing that some prospects were referred to as part of the Hodge Top 100.   The numbers they had listed didn't match the numbers I'd seen before for the CSTV top 100.  So I did some digging and discovered that CSTV actually has two separate top 100 lists.  The main one is put together by Van Coleman of Hoopmasters, and hasn't been updated in over a year.  But then there is the Hodge 100, which is put together by CSTV Recruiting editor Bill Hodge.  It is a more up to date list, not sure when the ranking was last done, but the player info is pretty recent.

Strange thing is, they don't publish the list as a whole list.  There's no page for the Hodge 100, instead, prospects are tagged with the Hodge 100 in their profile, and if you do the right kind of recruit search, you can get it to display all the Hodge 100 players. So I just copied the text into a spreadsheet and here it is.  There's quite a few MU targets on the list including a few that have only come up in the last few days.  Targets are in bold, commit to MU in italics. If somebody can figure out how to format it to get the columns to line up, go for it.

am I missing something? Maymon is NOT a Top 100 prospect?

nyg

I checked it three times and also did not see Maymon, strange.  But Wilson is #9.

MUCrew

By the way Maymon has been talked about, I was hoping that #9 was gonna say "Maymon"

That makes sense - Jamil Wilson was Mr Basketball in Wisconsin and only one player from wisconsin deserves to be in the top 100. Oh wait...
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

sorry, using sarcasm to prove how silly these rankings are to rank wilson and lacy from the basketball state of wisconsin, but not even mention the Mr Basketball from Wisconsin.

Maymon was not Mr. Basketball, in fact he wasn't even eligible for that.  Mr. Basketball is for the best senior, not the best player, and it went to DeMarcus Phillips of Milwaukee Washington.  Maymon was the AP Player of the Year which can go to any one in any grade.

And I wouldn't put much into Maymon not being in there, like I said these haven't been updated that recently.  I didn't put it in there, but the list also included which schools players were committed to and it was still out of date on a bunch.  It looks like they have updated some players, but not others and haven't changed the ranking since the HS season ended.

detroitwarrior

For what it's worth Bob Gibbonsof ESPN in it's current top 100 list has Maymon ranked 33 and Jamil Wilson ranked 50.
Once a warrior always a warrior.

BMA,
Nice work as usual. I would like to know how you would handicap the 2009 class in terms of what player(s) do we have the highest (most realistic) chances of getting right now.

Way too early to tell.  Just looking at this list, we're in Richard Howell's top 2, and Junior Cadougan's top 4.  I think MU has a real good shot at Cadougan, but with the Maymon commit I'm not sure about Howell.  Most of the rest of these guys aren't anywhere close to making a decision.

We should know more in the next few weeks, MU's basketball camps have been going on the last two weeks, so a lot of prospects have been on campus for that, and I'd think you'd see it start to clear out a little after that.

MR.HAYWARD

Correct...Mr. basketball is only for a Senior ...hence the reason a player like Christopherson could possible have won it, unfortunately also says something about the talent level of preps the state produces, although it is improving.
