I would love to get him as a transfer.  I think this would be a great way to use our 2008 extra.

another 6'6-6'7 wing.  I'd rather we add a point, a big and a shooter with our three remaining schollies.

I just love the idea of playing more of a flex style in the mold of Louisville and Memphis.  Having a number of interchangable parts to keep the pressure on and really put the defense on their toes seems to be a winning recipe in college hoops.

I don't disagree that adding a true PG is priority number one, but between this guy and a shooter is a coin flip to me, plus Johnson has demonstrated the ability to succeed at the D-1 level.

Johnson showed that he could produce at the Division I level. I'd take that over a high school recruit any day of the week.

Concerning our glut of attracting 6'5''---6'7'' wings it's better then stockpiling 6'1'' guards but you'd like to see more roster balance then the previous regime.

The other interesting tidbit is that Mr. Maymon mentioned Johnson's transfer from ISU was noted and they saw that as even more reason for Jeronne to be able to step in straight away as a Cyclone. If this report has any credence to it, it looks like Wesley Johnson and Jeronne Maymon will be competing for starting minutes -- at Marquette rather then Iowa State.

Memphis does not run a flex. They run the DDM. Completely different offenses.
But I like to throw handfuls...

My fault, I didn't mean flex in that sense.  I meant to say that they run offenses where players play multiple positions and are more interchangeable rather than one player playing one defined position.

This kid had a busted foot all year and was their best player.  Granted they sucked, but it's a huge void to fill.  Good kid too.
