when we say "Gold Out", that's what MU means.

on video you can see the entire arena is sporting the gold (yellow maybe for the horents?) shirts.

Yes, if they gave out free t-shirts for the gold outs I would be willing to bet that everyone in the stadium would be wearing gold like they are there.  At Marquette "gold outs" they give free gold t-shirts to Fanatics, who already have a million t-shirts.  Give them to everyone and everyone wears them.  I bet if you take pictures of a normal regular season game they don't all have yellow on.

The Golden State Warriors & Comcast did the same thing last year in their short playoff run.  Cool concept, but not real when it is a handout at the gates.  College Fans should be able to do this without an official sponsor.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

On Senior Night 2007 against Pitt, free baby blue t-shirts were given away commemorating the 30th anniversary of the NC.  Maybe 60% of the fans bothered to put them on.

I might have thought about it, but I was already wearing my favorite GOLD shirt that day.  That give away pissed me off - the stadium should be one color, that color is normally promoted as gold, then they give away light blue shirt.  Many of the problems getting a "Gold Out" are generated from confusion due to promotions and the like.

Right!  The giveaway shirts work if they are promoted in advance.  Then everyone is ready to go along with it.  My dad is almost 70, and if he's wearing his gold sweater to the game, he's not gonna take the sweater off at the game or put a blue t-shirt over it.  But if he knows in advance that it's gonna be powder blue giveaway t-shirt day, and that's the color to wear that day, he'll either wear something that color on his own or wear something that he can pop a t-shirt on over when he gets to the game.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

I'm surprised you didn't know about it.  I certainly knew that I was going to be getting a baby blue t-shirt that day.  I thought it was advertised pretty heavily.  The biggest excuse I heard at the time was that the give away area was too much of a mosh pit.  Although I do give your dad credit for wearing gold.  That was better than most of the non-conformists that night.

having a sea of gold would be nice, but having 16k fans per game is more valuable to the home court advantage
