Marquette fans please don't do anything stupid

Please welcome the new coach and support him.  Marquette is going to look really stupid if people protest and bitch about the hiring.  Go after the administration in private if you need to, but a public execution will only make us look worse.  Those of you calling for a protest, yeah you are good fans.  The guy has been hired, now support him.  Some of you people need to get a life.

I agree. I do not like the hire at all, but he is in the job now. At his point we have to see what he can do. With expectations so low now, maybe he does turn in a good performance.

Seems like this is a far too common theme, at least in relation to the athletics program.  I think they have done a fantastic job rennovating campus and improving the academic status of MU but fall short in a lot ways when it relates to MU athletics (nickname fiasco, ad hire, hc hire).

Hopefully we are all wrong and Buzz turns out to be a great hire, but this wasn't the splash I was hoping for.

My point wasn't to bring politics into the fray, but it's alarming to see this blind support for what is a questionable decision.  Yes, next season is 7 months away, but I don't know what Marquette did to deserve such undying support and loyalty.

Crean was paid millions of dollars by Marquette, and he didn't have the same loyalty that some of the people on this board have.

My thoughts exactly.  I disagree with the decision, but Williams seems like a really good guy and I hope he lands top 20 recruiting classes every year and takes us to several sweet sixteens and we remain a feared Big East program.  He wouldn't even have to do that well to make me love him.

I just think the administration made this hiring in a myopic vacuum.
