I didn't realize these were illegal.  I just thought the untucked jerseys were.

I think the NCAA actually banned them because it was too hard to read the numbers, or some such crap.

If I remember correctly the ND coach complained to the NCAA about them.

You mean this ND coach???  Seems it'd have to be since the bumblebee is 1971 and he started at ND in 71-72.
