Another White Trash Weekend on the river?

Nope, Four Seasons in Carlsbad at Aviara for that one.....probably more up your alley.

:)

I feel sorry for you and those that associate with you if that is humor.

Figures you don't get it. Your big risk of the day is paper cuts and terminal boredom sitting in your little cube.

Figures a loser like you can't appreciate manly humor.

I guffawed while rolling a cigarette in one hand while my other hand was sawing off my leg for a bet.  I then wrestled a gator and celebrated with an ultra rare steak while firing off m80s and my m1a.  Your humor was spot on.

I'm impressed. I've been there and played that course. I shoot 82 but was lucky to break 100 that day. Hotter than a pistol but what a great day of golf.

Maybe he just appreciates humor that's, you know, humorous.

I guess you had to be there Merritt. I've flown that approach many times and it was always hairy.

I need to get in on the satellite dish game.

My wife's sister works for CBS and her husband is also in the television biz....it's their timeshare, they let us borrow it that week.  TV biz is crazy, you can definitely make a buck but it also puts a lot of folks in the grave early, lots of divorces, etc....I'm looking forward to a much quieter gig next...we'll see.

If that was my day, I'd rather have that then trying to whip my old man balls out on a message board all day long.

Your shtick is tired and old. You clearly have issues, good luck with them. Back to ignore for the message board grandfather.

It's one of those weird courses I do fairly well at before the elbow and shoulder injury...I currently don't play.  There are much easier courses than that one that I would hit the century mark often, but that one I was routinely in the upper 80's on...can't explain it.

For some reason I play better on those hotter than a pistol days in Arizona.  So many gorgeous courses out there (and during the summer... for the right price!).  I'll have to check out that course next time I am out in that area.

What I remember about Aviara is that it played long. And there were hazards that penalized aggressive play - which is how I play so I was in trouble a lot. It was a beautiful patch, though. It was ridiculously hot while we were there, too.

I should say we weren't at the 4 Seasons. We got a deal for military at the Hyatt. I think it was $150/night including breakfast and golf. Of course, once you added up the taxes and "resort fee" $150 became a hazy, distant memory. It was still a great deal and a helluva course. There were wives/SO's along, too, so it wasn't just golf and booze. That area is splendid and a good time was had by all. I would go back in a heart beat.

I recommend it highly. Like I said, it plays long and you need to avoid the inevitable temptations most guys have looking to tame a course. It's a beautiful area with great spas so take the lady; you'll be a champ while getting to golf everyday!

I learned to fly the A 10 at Davis Monthan so I logged some serious hours in Tucson. I wasn't a snot nosed 2Lt going through the syllabus so I had a lot of free time and I knew a lot of guys stationed there so I became very familiar with the area courses.

Tucson National is great. The Combat Air Force holds its Weapons and Tactics Conference at D-M every October and Tucson Nat'l lets us hold a Tourney there. My favorite public is Fred Enke. We get to play Enke for $12 so we often snuck out around 1400 to get in 18 during the week. My fave though is Arizona National up on the mountainside. That is a spectacular desert course. One of the par 3's on the backside and the 18th tee are worth the price of admission. I heard they were having probs though so I'm not sure of its status. You should absolutely play it if in Tucson.

not sure if the MUScoop servers could handle Chicos with more free time... Current gig must be just slightly more time consuming than retirement.

I work plenty of hours my friend, just different hours.  Sometimes when you are all cozy in your bed, I'm on a call.  Drives my wife crazy, but that's the deal.  Weekends, etc.  I don't judge your workload because I don't know, I'd suggest you do the same since you have no idea about mine.

Hyatt bought out the place from Four Seasons I think last year, or the year prior.  I haven't been there since 2010 or so.

We should have a new rule .. anyone who bumps an old thread gets a day ban for each year the thread was bumped.  Unless it was awesome.  And no threads about Crean leaving, traditionals, Hiroshima, Chicos baiting, nor Larry Williams are awesome.

Threads about the Warrior name travesty are always awesome, though.

I clicked on this thinking there was some sort of underwhelming news from MU (no, I did not immediately recognize that it said Fr. Wild) and was even more disappointed to find this garbage from 5 years ago.

We went there one week home from Afghanistan in 09. The hotel was Hyatt and separate from the Four Seasons. The Four Seasons had a hotel and residences. I recall when they opened a residence property in Jakarta the asking price was through the roof. If your sis and family have one of those they are doing mighty well.

I often see you DirecTV guys and your vans late at night. I guess when someone's dish falls off the roof and such your beeper goes off and you respond to the call? How often do you go on calls in the wee hours like that? Hope you guys are unionized so you get overtime for those late night calls.
