If you have ever been there you'll know why Bobby K had such an angry personality, once you leave the campus the IQ drops about 100 pts.  ;D

I love Milwaukee and loved my time at Marquette, but the neighborhood around campus ain't exactly the Palm Springs of the Midwest.

The Lens

TC was put up at the Hilton Garden Inn...wow, that's Milw seem high society.  At least Madison has the Edgewater or the Concourse.  Is the Hilton Garden Inn the best they can do there?

Pakuni, I can see you've never been to Bloomington!!!

MUDPT

My dad says that you if you hit Bloomington in the spring at the right time, it's one of the prettiest campuses in America.

The rest Indiana, meh.  I'm from there too.

jutaw22mu

is it true that the "knight inn's" are named after bobby knight?

in the spring, mu's campus is also very pretty

ChicosBailBonds

Didn't mind Bloomington when I was there...only an hour from Indy which I like more than Milwaukee.

Bloomington isn't as nice as Lawrence but better than a lot of college towns

Several times, in fact. When I was deciding where to go to college, MU and IU were my final two. After that, I had some friends at IU who I visited down there on a few occasions. Beautiful campus, typical middle-sized Midwestern town around it. Certainly not much different than Lafayette, Lansing or Chambana.

jutaw22mu

i hope its different than lafayette....purdues campus aint that great

I was talking about the surrounding town more than the campus itself. Purdue's campus is subpar for an institution of its standing/funding.

muhoosier260

purdue's campus is so hideous and confusing. concerning IU/Bloomington, what do you expect? no town is perfect

Hey, I'm an MU grad who lived in Indiana for awhile.  Bloomington is a very nice town, with a bunch of crap around it.  MU is terrible in the spring...along with the rest of Milwaukee.  Always cloudier and colder than just 30 miles west.

mu72warrior

well at least we're not talking about Crean now! The campus is very nice, never said it wasn't, but it's still a rose in a swamp!!

mugoose

the entire state of Indiana should be paved

jutaw22mu

no kiddin...i just bought a new car and cringe everytime im forced to drive over a pothole (which is about once a minute on these indiana roads)

DAtruth

i love mackey arena..old school..cement steps/flooring..metal poles every 5-6ft holding up wooden benches no backrest..its more comfortable to stand..nice atmosphere.. loud!!!! they are probably going to ruin it with this $82 milllion "mackey project"...

assembly hall is a mess!! the media/tv booths  along with walls and beams are obrstructing views of the court..but they already have plans in the works as well..

ive walked into hinkle fieldhouse several times and would b overwhelmed with the smell of manure.. and on more than 1 occasision seen hay under the bleachers..lets tear it down!! :D sometimes it isnt the best facitlity but the one with the longest, richest history that are the most memorable..

jutaw22mu

mackey arena definetely is awesome.  what a homecourt advantage.  i hope they dont ruin it with this new project...i think i remember them saying the renovation would remove some of the seating.  they may want to rethink that after this season, the arena was filled to the top for many games.

assembly hall is such a hole.

TC is looking forward to swimming against the townies in the rock quarries.

Don't hate on Hinkle!! That place is the home of basketball in its purest form. And IU is considered to have the nicest campus in the Big 10 much less the midwest and if you have been there you know why. Bloomington itself isn't the most awesome city but the campus is amazing. Much better than Purdue's (if you want to get a good whiff of sulfur, go to West Lafayette..it literally smells like sh*t everywhere you go). As far as Assembly Hall goes, they have oked the building of a new arena on campus and the construction should be starting soon i think.

jutaw22mu

yes wl does smell like crap.  the on campus animal housing near hansen/lilly has a permanent stentch due to the housing of pigs indoors.

Coach Norman Dale

I spent four years in Bloomington attending Indiana after my four years in Milwaukee.  I enjoyed what Milwaukee had to offer, but if forced to pick one as a place to live over the other, Bloomington easily wins.

The campus area is beautiful, especially Jordan Avenue in the spring when the sorority girls are in bloom.   ;D

That couldn't be more wrong. Michigan State is hands down the best Big 10 campus. The Hinkle is disgusting in its purest form.

I heard Lansing is the anus of the world. Also for all your Wisconsin people out there. I believe the UW campus is actually pretty lame in comparison to many schools, especially during gameday. MAdison=Overrated. But most college towns are holes anyway, unless you ask someone who is form the area.
