http://realty100.wisconsin.remax.com/listings/ListingDetail_r4.aspx?LID=38218851#aTop

a guy i work with lives a couple doors down and was talking to the realator

cheebs09

If this is true that will be really disappointing. I guess the run to the elite 8 means a lot.

dcmk89

Oh god no! i was hoping mckillop was just a smoke screen. damn. good f**kin' find

give me a break that is a total joke.

Even if you get the job you dont buy a house the same day

and if we do hire him that is aterrible hire, 20 years of doing nothing and then you get an underrcruited guy and it validates a heretofore poor career.  and that translates to being successful in the BE how?

I think $9,500 is a little high for taxes.  Not exactly Palm Beach County.

Niv Berkowitz

As much as Buzz makes me mad, this would make me more mad. It would be a Deane-like hire. I hope to God it doens't happen.

I don't mind Brownell. Also Lowery. He was high on everyone's list last year. Those two would be good.

FWIW, here's his Wikipedia profile: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bob_McKillop

This line kind of reminds me of someone we know: "The 2008 season has been a testament to McKillop's recruiting prowess, as they've been carried by the shooting of Stephen Curry, who didn't get a second look from most of the bigger programs."

MUEAGLE96

just reporting what a realator told some one i work with, dont shoot the messenger

dcmk89

I just got a text from the realtor (not going to put his name out there, i'll just say that he was mine, im from menomonee)...bob has bought a house, i can confirm

tower912

Combine this with the report on the scout board  of Buzz's wife picking up $1500 worth of merchandise at the spirit shop and you have..............a reason to have another beer.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

Every coach is in San Antonio for their convention yet our new hire, Bob McKillop, is not down there putting a staff together but rather is spending this time to buy a house. Hmmmmm.

Which Bob?

And hey, what about Bob, anyways?

denverMU

If this is true, He would be a great hire.  From New York, older, and can actually coach during a game.  By the way who the hell do you expect him to recruit to Davidson???

dude this is a thread about mckillop, what do you think?

Chicago_inferiority_complexes

Sorry, forgot to use the teal. My minor attempt at sarcasm.

From Davidson web site..."McKillop derived his basketball philosophy from many sources: Lou Carnesecca, Al and Frank McGuire

Smart kids who can play, too? Davidson has the highest academic standards among all D1 NCAA schools. Of course, this will keep our tradition of graduating all of our players. At least we know McKillop runs a clean program. I bet the board loves that.

PS i assume you were referring to my comment; i meant that it sounded like DWade. DU was carried by a big-time player who wasn't highly touted. Maybe McKillop--and Crean--got lucky, or maybe they were wise recruiters. Let's hope it's the latter.

denverMU

I'm sure that Tyshawn Taylor would live up to his LOI with McKillop. Also, and most importantly I found this from a interview he did earlier this year...

MAGARITY: If you had an opportunity to sit down, for a cup of coffee, with anyone from history, who would it be and why?

MCKILLOP: Jesus Christ. As a devout Catholic there could be no one else.

Fits in at Marquette perfectly!!

PuertoRicanNightmare

Short term: McKillip would be spectacular. We've got 4 seniors coming back next year with a great chance to have a really historic season.

Long term: I would hope the conversations we've been having with Williams would be about staying on as an assistant.

"In 1989, McKillop returned to Davidson, this time as head coach. He's coached Davidson longer than any basketball coach, has won more games there than any coach, and his 144 Southern Conference wins are more than any coach in league history. He's been the SoCon Coach of the Year six times, has won eight conference division titles, three tournament championships, and taken his team to three NCAA tournaments and three postseason NITs. All this winning hasn't come at any academic sacrifice, as 95 percent of his Davidson lettermen have graduated."

so let's say this realtor thing is true, and MU is hiring mckillopsicle...

he's old.
they say to Buzz-- guys got 5 years, max.
you're what 35 Buzz?
we crank your salary-
name you associate head coach or whatever.
and you have his job when he hits social security or sooner.

is this feasible, reasonable and acceptable?
stabilty remains in the recruiting area- Buzz.
team gets an elder statesman who dug Al, has the right 'ethics' for a catholic Univ. and apparantly can coach D1... big conference?  who knows.
buzz cuts his teeth and the job is his.
soon.

is that enough?
?-(

No.  A coach should be able to pick his own assistants.
