MU should have demanded a higher buyout....that's part of MU's side of the deal.  TC, we'll pay you a boatload of money but you have a high buyout.   I'm sure they tried and I'm sure TC's attorney said not gonna happen.

At some point MU has to be a big boy and not be surprised about some of this stuff.

I agree - it seems they offered/signed a one-sided contract, and now they have to live with that.  However, I was trying to talk specifically to the point of possibly losing a whole recruiting class to answer the thread's question, not necessarily money.

I wouldn't put any stock into what Indiana boosters or those in know say it is.  I have heard, no buyout at all, buyout of $500,000, buyout of $500,000 per remaining year and low 7 figures.  If Miller's buyout is over $2 million, I would think TC's is somewhere around there if not more.  If I had to guess I would say it is $500,000 per remaining year and Indiana is not stupid enough to tell everyone that they are writing a huge check especially when it will be Cuban who writes the check anyway.

And to a certain extent .. why would Crean care?  Crean knew that the ONLY job he would be lured away to would be one of the top 10 jobs in the country.  Every one of those elite jobs would pay him dearly, and the buyout would be an afterthought, if they really wanted him.
