... when we found out he was good friends with Tony LaRussa.  I think all of us Cubs and Brewer fans can agree to hate him.

Don't know if anyone posted this, I'm sure i would have seen it. TC was on the Dan patrick show and dropped LaRussa's name 3 times. DP gives him hell too.

I was going to say it was his relationship with Barry Alvarez

That's the fist audio or video that I've listened to.

Any paraphrase of the interview highlights?

"I want it to be when we see each other [the team], that we pick up right from where we left off. And I think time will heal that. I don't think that they're very happy with me right now, and I understand that.  But, I want to be able to pick that up and build on the the bonds that we've built. And that's all you can ask for. And its the same thing with the administration, and it's the same thing with your close friends, and it's the same thing with fans........that stuff is so important to me."

We are not very happy, Tom, and I don't think we will be "picking up where we left off" when we see you again.

It was so important that he waited until Steve Cottingham was on a plane to Colorado to leave him a voice message telling him after the fact about his departure from Marquette's program.

Can't believe he fooled you all.  We tried to tell you.  And you don't know the half of what a jerkoff he is.  One - what can now be characterized as a fluky - D. Wade led final four and he had you at hello.

If he was Jophn Wooden then you could be a jerk.   He was Creighton without Wade.

Al, Hank, Rick and Mike  were all great  guys.  No animosity from Badger fans, just a rivalry.  Many, many like me considered MU their second favorite team until jerky came around and started verbally and mentally abusing people in Milwaukee left and right.  I'd rather be  the cleaner at the zoo than work for him for one day.

I have made the same mistakes with girlfriends. ;)

as a st. louisan living in milwaukee, i take offense to this. Why is La Russa a D-Bag? Cause he can coach? Cause he is a winner while the cubs were and still are losing and while the brewers (while they still are my second favorite team) were struggling to break .500?

The only thing you should be bringing up La Russa for is maybe some kind of connection to Creans auto accident that was mentioned on another thread.

Hey Butchbadger,

Q: Whats the difference between Bo Ryan and God?

A: God doesn't think he's Bo Ryan.

I'm just glad I don't have to look at the "polar bear" anymore, that guy makes me sick.

You are a d-bag not b/c you are a Cards fan, but b/c you mock one of the few insightful college bball or sports analysts for that matter.  There are some witty user names on this board, but yours is stupid.  It is like the Seinfeld episode when Kramer was protesting out in front of the post office with a mail man wearing a bucket over his head b/c we are blind to their tyranny.  Someone asked Kramer, shouldn't we be wearing the bucket then?  Nobody laughed at Kramers mockery or got it, just like your name.

Some of us like Rican, DKCL, and myself have been trying to convince the rest of you for years. Crean is very elementary. Could see right thru him like Saran Wrap.

Untucked, I don't know if he thinks he is God, but he is nice to staff, waitresses etc. People he doesn't HAVE to be nice to unlike Crean.

And put the negative recruiting thing to bed. He was looking for jobs since the cut down the nets in 2003.  Keep defending you ex coach who everyone knows by now was a complete and total ahole except to the few he was forced to be gracious to.

That's great but your guy left you with out a coach, a big man, or any recruits at this point.

Shoot the messenger and hang your hat on a game in December.  I am fine with my guy, where is yours?

You should be glad he's gone. MU is a great BB school. If you hire the right guy (and hopefully a decent guy guy) you'll be fine.

if only your written words carried half as much pain as you intended them to, then that might hurt. thanks for joining the conversation.

So do Rudy Giuliani's....what's your point?

PuertoRicanNightmare

He asked why LaRussa is a douche bag. I answered.

And Giuliani is an even bigger douche bag, if that's possible.

so you have no professional opinion of LaRussa, only that the fact that his children, his private life, hate him? I fail to see why this is a valid reason why he is a douche bag.

Who cares if LaRussa's a Deutche Bank, as long as we can all agree that TC is clueless if he believes that time will heal the player's wounds. He burned those guys, especially the 3 amigos, very badly.

Word.

Having some time to think about this, I think Crean should have told IU to postpone his announcement until the end of the week or a few weeks so he could FIRST break the news to his players/staff/university and join his players at the awards banquet.

He did neither.

He got out of MU so quick his skin's still at the AL.

I was thinking about that yesterday TT.  I've always wondered how that stuff gets picked up in these types of situations.
