LOL.....I know and was thinking about this last night.  I assume you mean the crash in 1999.

Knight Commission

Yes. And there was alot of talk about family in his press conference today.

TallTitan34

I've never heard of this as I am more recent to Marquette.  What happened?

Well, sorry I can't give you a nugget you're looking for in terms of conspiracy.  If my memory serves correctly, Crean was not on the job long at all, remember he took the job like March 30th or 31st, but was living in Michigan. Joanie was pregnant back there and it took weeks for him to get to MU.  A lot was going on.  I had my first meeting with him on March 30th for about 5 minutes, I next saw him probably 6 to 8 weeks later if I remember.  And then saw him consistently after that, but those guys were moving and trying to recruit like crazy, etc.

At any rate, my recollection is that he drove his car the wrong way on a one way street and hit another car.  Minor damage, nothing problematic but definitely his fault.  For someone new to the area around MU's campus, driving down some of those streets that criss crossed one way could be problematic for rookies.  I thought the crash was within about a mile of MU's campus, which may or may not have been "seedy".

That was about the extent of it.

Ahhh...gotcha! For those of you unable to read between the lines as I am, he was drunk, looking to score some crack and had two hookers in the car, one of whom happened to be a midget, and a guy. Glad we cleared that up.

As far as you know.

You're supposed to put that in the teal font Knight!!    :D

Crean was a boy scout guys....and that pissed a lot of people off too.  Go figure.

Just so we're clear...was one of the hookers a midget and the other a guy? or was one of the hookers a male midget?

Sir Lawrence

"or was one of the hookers a male midget?"

And now you know why he couldn't recruit bigs.

Coobeys Oil Depot

I'm not sure whether to laugh because this sarcastic thread has been a relief from the other drivel or whether to say "uhhhhhh.......I knew there was something strange back then".

IAmMarquette

Are you implying that there's something unseemly about short-statured, male members of the sex industry?

I recommend this thread be pinned. I know it is just what I needed. I can't seem to stop laughing. Sir Lawrence got me with that one.

For the record, a male midget.

Couldn't? Or just chose not to? Perhaps he prefers the company of vertically-challenged men.

Does the Athletic Department or Blue and Gold Fund pay for these prostitutes?  Or is that 'out of pocket' for TC?  I mean, he has enough money.  It's just a point of clarification really.
