win the national title.

Imagine the egg on Crean's face if we somehow managed to do that.

Assuming we get a coach that can keep the 3 amigos and our current recruits, I challenge you to find a college team with more experience and more depth than Marquette next year.

Maybe a new coach is exactly what this team needs to get us over the hump and take us to the next level.

I know a lot of you are worried about losing recruits, especially after seeing Taylor's comments, but this kind of stuff happens all the time and more often than not the recruits end up staying -- despite what recruits may say.

What we have at Marquette is a great situation for a coach to walk into. We have the facilities, the fan base, the players, and the recruits to make this team one of the top teams in the country next year (which we do have Crean to thank for).

Outside of coaches already at top 10 programs or coaches who are at their alma mater, I think you would have to be an idiot not to take a good look at Marquette right now.

And if Steve Cottingham can't get a coach to see that, then he deserves to be tarred and feathered.

As Jake Taylor would say... "win the whole f---ing thing."

Haha I was thinking the same thing.

Think Lou Brown is available?  He may have a guy on the other line about some whitewalls.

I'd go one better--win the national title with IU's first choice candidate, Tony Bennett.

SCdem's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons. But that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.

Indiana University AD, with dismissal letter in hand, after a few years of not winning: "Crean, you can't spend your whole life worrying about your mistakes! You f____d up - you trusted us! Hey, make the best of it! "

The Lens

I usually don't get caught up by stories from IWB & Co but his report from the presser where Lazar, Wes & Jerel kept bugging DJ to finish an interview b/c everyone was on the court ready to go and play really pumped me up.  Deane-o took over and lost Mac, Damon & Robb...Coach Next loses Fitzy, Ooze & Trend.  We return a ton of talent and while Nick Williams would have been nice, he's not necessary for next year.  And while Otule is essential he prob wouldn't do much anyways.  The right coach could really make it happen next season.  I think we can all agree TC's weakest area was the 40 minutes during the game.  If we can win a a decent clip next season, recruits will follow.  I'm not worried about Mike Deane b/c we're not hiring cheap, we don't practice in the Old Gym, we don't fly Northwest and we spend cash cash and more cash on recruiting & support staff.

The chip on DJ, Jerel, Wes, & Lazar's shoulder may be exactly what keeps MU going.  TC didn't just admit that he topped out at MU, TC said he topped out with this group.  These guys will remember that.  I don't usually believe this type of BS, but I believe it today.

Haha maybe (probably) I'm just a moron, but that kind of talk is getting me fired up for this team to play some sweet pissed off ball next year. I feel like the Deltas in that scene Chicos referenced. Jerel in BET/NCAA form, Dom in Valpo form, Wes and Lazar in not-yet-seen form...

I can see all right now...Locker Room at the Al, everyone sitting around with their heads hanging...Enter Dominic James:

What the f- happened to the Marquette I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh?

"Ooh, we're afraid to go with you DJ, we might get in trouble."

Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Crean, he's a dead man! Greenspan, dead! Isaiah Thomas...

Wesley Matthews jumps in and finishes the speech then it cuts to a scenes of them lifting weights, doing drills, playing scrimmages...much like the montage of the construction of the DeathMobile...

Oh this is too good.
