How much was Wade's involvement in the program a product of Crean being the head coach?  Is he committed to supporting MU, or does he fade a little into the background now that the man responsible for getting him to the NBA has moved on?

MUDPT

That's one thing I hope to hear today.  It would make my day so much better.  If I heard Dwyane said, "I love Tom Crean, but Marquette is where it happened, and that's who I will always support."

The new coach will have to reach out to DWade to welcome him back.  I'm sure that we will see less of him, but he is at least still connected by the shoe/uniform deal between Converse and MU.

An equally important and stomach-churning question: Do we now see more of D-Wade in Bloomington? Or worse: If MU and IU are competing for a recruit, on whose behalf does D-Wade make a recruiting call?

Ick.

I agree. This among other things is something the new coach must handle very quickly. DWade is just as important to this program as anything else. Having DWade on board would really help to assure students, fans, alumni, that although the coach has left... the program is fine.

following that, I think Wade has a contractual obligation to MU b/c of the converse/wade apparel. I dont know how long the contract is for. I dont know the extent of Wades involvement in it, but i think that this still ties him to the school if not for love but for money.

I think that Wade falls on MU's side of the fence on this one. As much as Crean "coached" him, MU is the one that made him a man. I think he loved the institution more than the man.

I think DWade's got plenty of love for both MU and TC.  I doubt if he'll ever have to choose which he "loves more".
