This would be why the hiring of Steve Cottingham could be a huge mistake by MU.

One of my biggest issues is that he was given way too much power at MU (stories will leak out now that will make people understand) and b/c of this we scrapped a nat'l search and hired a guy to placate Tom Crean.  So here we're are at a major cross roads and we lack an experienced AD to oversee hiring. 

In the end TC's legacy is that he did wonders for MU in bringing us from the stoneage to start of the art, yet the absolute power he was given could be a real burden to MU.
