Don't remember the exact stat, but near the end of the game I think they said Ryan was like 13-2 against the other Wisconsin teams.  It was at least nice to know that Marquette was the "2" part of that (even if the announcers didn't acknowledge / know it).

'Course, I was hoping it would be a "3" after today.  Alas, that will have to wait until another day.

Yikes!

Seriously, at this point, I wouldn't mind if MU just gave up on this game.  As these results show, either UW is just the far superior program or puts more emphasis on this battle.  It's no fun to get your hopes up year after year, and still far more often than not end up getting thrashed.

This was a year where MU should have won the game (MU was favored by 2 points in the last Vegas line I checked).  The talent is pretty equal and MU had the home court advantage and was looking to avenge a horrible beating at UW last year.  And yet, UW controlled nearly the entire game and the best we could do was occasionally cut the lead to 6 or 4 a few times?!?!

HoopDreams

I have yet to understand how we lost with 19,000 people at that game..we trully got owned in every sense of the word, defensively and offensively. I did feel we got outcoached also, the matchups for the game and sporadic substitutions were pretty ineffective. I guess I am speechless as I feel Marquette had nothing on Madison for the game..

Look, UW is more experienced and better than us this year, and have been more often than not since Al retired.  But there is no reason that needs to continue, or necessarily will continue.  We've gone through a rough patch with transfers, etc., but I think things are still going in the right direction.  Other than for fans of MU, this loss was by no means devastating.  We lost to a very good team.  We'll be back.

For MU to be moving in the right direction, the "big 3" need to be showing improvement from last season, and that clearly isn't the case.

Less pre-game autograph sessions and more shooting lessons for DJ would be a good place to start.

I think UW is an excellent tune-up for our guys.  One could forgive the NDST game as a fluke, but UW really shows your weaknesses as they are a well coached team - like it or not.  We were not even in the game last year with NBA stud Novak, but this year we were a dunk away from stealing the game.
You heard it here first. Davante Gardner will be a Beast this year.

Actually, the UW loss was very similar to the NDST game, so neither loss was a fluke.  But I do agree that UW is a very well coached team, and Bo knew exactly what to do against MU.  Too bad Coach Crean was too busy thinking about his next tanning appointment and didn't seem to realize you have to force Tucker to his left.

If this game is played in Madison, UW wins by double digits.  So we've got that to look forward to next season.

That comment tells me you're a troll.  Feel free to make a post that proves otherwise, or your stay here will be short lived.

Why am I a troll for pointing out that Crean couldn't be bothered to instruct his players to force Tucker to his left hand?  If you want to be a Crean fanboy, then go ahead, but I have a right to criticize him as I see fit.  But if you want to run a brown-nosing MU site, you certainly have the right to do that...

I can't understand why so many MU fans have this bizzare inferiority complex.  Whining about press coverage (the almost personal offense people take from Woeful's columns), negative posts, etc.  Well, maybe I can understand it when the big, bad UW rodents continually make us their rodent poop.

Those concerned with Crean's tan are usually trolls.  Your first 4 posts haven't impressed me - I'm challenging you to provide more insight and do less whining about crean yourself.

Crean fanboy? Hardly Brown nosing? Not at all Whining? That's you Worried about negative posts?  No way. Basketball criticism is fine, you're the one bringing up something as meaningless as tanning

Critical fans (positive and negative) are welcome.  You're looking like a troll and a flamer though.  Nothing good to say about MU, and you just flame back when someone calls you on it.
