He was outside during a surprise party thrown by his wife. He did mention that he agreed with the posters below about the ejection affecting the calls the rest of the game and he anticipated that being the case immediately...even switching to zone defense.

He was extremely impressed with the Lopez twins, saying they were even better than he could have anticipated.

He spoke very highly of McNeals work ethic, mentioned doing "due dilgence" on exploring pro possibilities, talked about Barro playing the most games at MU and being 2nd all time in FG %, and reiterated that he was happy at Marquette and couldn't ask for better support from the administration.

Overall, it was a very nice interview with David Kaplan from WGN Radio.

One other thing I forgot to mention, Crean said he spoke with Kevin O'Neill often about Marquette and that he told him that success was very possible at Marquette. I can't remember the particulars, but it seems he talks to KO fairly often.

You expect the assistant coach exodus to begin any day now. KO is looking for a job now that Lute is back in Tuscon.

Reunion?

Well, first Crean has to run Buzz off into a promotion at TCU.

I wish my boss would run me off into a promotion.  ::)

He really gave KO a lot of credit for starting the rebuilding process st MU. For a guy that some people think tries to take too much credit for himself, I thought it was an interesting comment.

It was a pretty candid interview, much more than the postgame comments or anything like that. I think Crean has become more and more comfortable turning the PR spin off and saying exactly what's on his mind. That's the sign of a guy who's becoming a veteran coach.

Does anyone really think KO would comeback to a University that he basically ran away from - as AN ASSISTANT COACH?

It's one thing to go back to where you started - and besides, before the season started he was viewed as Lute's successor.  Not sure what happened, but he's not viewed that way anymore in Arizona.

Well I think what happened is he took an extremely talented team, with probably at least 3 nba players, to a 19-15 record, which included losing 9 of their last 13 games (with two of those wins against oregon st.) and an opening round loss in the ncaa's.  The expectations were just so much higher, and they collapsed under O'Neill.

during that time losing their starting back court for much of that time due to injury.
But I like to throw handfuls...

I bet O'Neill gave TC a lot of info. about Stanford and how to best defend them.
