The Momentum changing play of the game
« on: March 22, 2008, 10:06:58 PM »
Marquette was up by 7 points early in the 2nd half starting another run.

Fitzgerald looks as those he is about to burry his 3rd straight three pointer when it does everything but go in.  Stanford takes it to the other end of the floor and converts three point play

6 point swing!!!!

Stanford was tougher than MU coming out of the locker room, and turned it into a dog fight where their strength was better than ours.

Hayward got called for his 3rd foul 12 seconds into the second half....that's when I knew we weren't going to many breaks.

After Wes makes 4 straight free throws, Lazar steps up for his one and one and misses the front end. FOCUS.

Lots of plays could have changed the outcome - but the team gave it everything - they left it all on the court - every second.  Great effort

not piling on here but...

the momentum changing play of the game happened at the 4min Media timeout in the 2nd half.  that's when Oliver put both Brook and Robin back into the game.  when they were both out i believe Marquette went on a 9-2 run to take a 1pt lead.

for me, that's why this loss isn't that tough.  we didn't give them the game, stanford simply took it back.  they were the stronger team, and when they sat their strength we took advantage.

Have to agree on this one. That was a big miss.

All that stuff was big, but we still had a 5 point lead with 3 minutes to go.  Give Stanford credit, they are a good team and they made some huge shots in big spots.  One more than us.  Those last 5 points the scored at the end of the first half demonstrated some serious toughness from them.
