I'm sure some will say Crean ran him off if he takes it.   ::)

Per Fox Sports

- The Providence opening has probably garnered more names than any other spot. We've already mentioned former PC grad Jim Larranaga of George Mason, ex-Friars assistant Fran Fraschilla and former Ohio State coach Jim O'Brien. There are plenty more: Kent State's Jim Christian, Brown's Craig Robinson, Ohio's Tim O'Shea, GW's Karl Hobbs, UMass' Travis Ford, Arizona interim coach Kevin O'Neill and even St. Joe's coach Phil Martelli.

- TCU will need to get in someone who can recruit Texas. ORU head coach Scott Sutton is a possibility. Look for all three Longhorns assistants (Russell Springmann, Ken McDonald and Rodney Terry) as well as Arizona assistant Josh Pastner and former Texas A&M assistant Buzz Williams, who was the head coach at New Orleans last season before joining Tom Crean's staff at Marquette this year.

Bye, bye Texas recruiting pipeline.

Buzz would be a great hire at TCU....thing is, that conference is awful, their facility is rotten, and nobody there cares about hoops.  I bet the Frogs make a run at him -- but maybe he thinks he can do better.

As for MU's 08 recruits - they've signed LOIs...game/set/match

But the best of the pipeline hasn't signed an LOI. That's where it will hurt.

Then we better sabotage his candidacy with rumors that Buzz is also known as Emperor's Club Client #10.

Kidding, of course.

Anyhow, no big surprise that Williams' name is out there. Obviously he's got great connections down there and is thought of fairly highly from his days at A&M. Hope he stays, but will wish him well if he goes.

TCU just hired the Kent State head coach.  Crean must have found a way to sabotage Buzz's candidacy. ::)

A little odd he took that job. It's a lateral move at best. Unless he thinks he can start getting some of the local kids, and there are plenty of good ones. Texas used to be a backwater for hoops, but not anymore.
