MU NY

This will be the tenth time the two teams face each other...more than any other matchup in the history of the NCAA tourney...Anyone know the breakdown in terms of wins and losses...years they played?

MU NY

Nice...time to win our third in a row!

I remember very clearly watching Al's team dismantle Rupp's team which featured Dan Issel in Madison in 1969 on TV. For a high school senior already set on his college selection, it was exciting for me to see the Warriors pay back UK for the previous year's tourney loss in Lexington.
Willie Wampum danced up a storm with tomahawk in hand to the sounds of Cherokee.

Great story and Issel was such a horse.  Great player.  Do you know who was on the UK 1959 team?

think james can break UK like tony miller did back in 94? that was a game...

Wow .. UK has a pretty awesome stat/player site.

Here's a good starting point:

So who is right? The 3/11/61 game is listed as an NCAA win at Houston on the MU sight, but is listed as a Kentucky loss in Chicago (NCAA not mentioned). If MU sight is correct then this is the 11th time we are meeting in the NCAAs. If not an NCAA game, why were we we playing UK so late in the season, especially late in 1961? Just curious.
