Other Games To Watch/Teams To Root Against Today
« on: March 14, 2008, 08:59:38 AM »
With MU seemingly in the 4/5 range, here are some teams of note to watch today and root against. Some teams like Drake and Butler are already done, so with that in mind, here are some teams we're up against for a 4 seed.

Vandy (vs Arkansas)
IU (vs Minny)
Wash St (vs Stanford)
Stanford (see above)
Purdue (vs Illinois)
Mich St (vs Ohio St)
Clemson (vs BC)

Should be a fun day of hoops today.

I am going to do something I haven't done in nearly 30 years and root for the University of Michigan.

You didn't root for them the previous 2 meetings?

Regular season didn't matter and my contempt for all things bucky had not yet reached its current boil.

I will be pulling for Arkansas, Minnesota, Stanford (we aren't going to be seeded higher than them), Illinois, Michigan State (to knock OSU out), and BC.

Another reason to watch these teams is (assuming we win in round 1), we'll most likely face one from this group in the 2nd round (including Drake and Butler with this group).

Tams I don't want to see that we could possibly be paired up with:

First Round - AZ, AZ State, Davidson
2nd Round - Stanford, Vandy

Maybe I'm giving Pac10 too much respect, but I'd much rather face any Big 10 teams.

I say root FOR Stanford. Make sure they get up to a 3 seed. That way, if we get a 5, we don't have to worry about facing them as a 4 in Anaheim. UCLA and Stanford in Anaheim, not MU. Somewhere closer please.

As a NorCal MU fan, we DO NOT want to face Stanford's Lopez twins (effectively Brook Lopez...Robin is the Jarron Collins of the twins).

If you can tune into ESPN2 right now, do so, and take a look at the mid-court logo at American U's gym.

If you are unable to do so, take a look at this: http://graphics.fansonly.com/photos/schools/amer/sports/genrel/auto_player/625061.jpeg
I wonder what gave them the idea for that...

Also, the number font on their jerseys is the same as ours.
