Seed question?
« on: March 13, 2008, 11:29:52 PM »
Yes I know none of us are on the committee but I was currently looking at the brackets Joe Lunardi has up, and as of today we were a 5 and ND was a 4.  With ND loosing tonight, and the fact we beat them 2 out of 3, do you see us jumping to a 4 seed (if things are set up as lunardi has them?  I realize he isn't 100% correct!)

I think we need to be playing on Saturday to be any better than a 5. If I were a betting man, I'd say we'd be a 6 even after the win tonight. Win tomorrow, and that could change.

I agree, I was just going off one person's brackets.

On another note, looking at the Pitt board, they seem to think there is no way for them to loose.  Granite they play well in MSG and are playing well of late, but aren't we the ones that beat them?

I think we are a definite 5 right now.

Need to look at other teams that are projected 4,5, 6 and see what they are doing in their tourny.  We beat ND so we should be ahead of them now.

Do you know how hard it is to beat a team twice in one season? Or was that three times?  I can't remember.

we are a 5 right now, and I would guess so is ND. Now, we beat Pitt and make the BE tourney and we get a 4 in my opinion. Thats how huge tomorrow night is, i think it means an entire seed with the possibility of playing a 13 rather than a 12.

for what its worth, if we were to win this thing there is an outside shot at a 3, which would be hella nice.

In all likelihood my predictions are: Gtown with a 2, Lville with a 3, MU and UConn with a 4, ND with a 5, Pitt a 7, WVU with an 8 and villanova out...this is if MU and Gtown win tomorrow... If WVU and Pitt win they would both move up a spot

I wonder how close that is to Lunardi ima go take a look.

I would rather be a 6 seed than a 4 or 5. An 11 seed may be a little tougher than the 13, but not much. Then worse case is you play 3 in the second round. I rather play the tougher team seeded lower and the weaker teams seeded higher. The more important thing though is not the seed, but the teams were matched up against.
