Pago Warrior

After perusing the boxscore this morning, a few things jumped out at me:
*Ignoring the poor team FT shooting, Hayward, McNeal and Matthews actually did well from the line shooting 5-6, 6-7, and 4-5 respectively
*SH's Garcia fouled out in 8 minutes of play.  That nearly one every 90 seconds of play.  Even that has got to beat any of Fitz's performances.
*8 out of Ooze's total 9 rebounds were off the offensive glass.  That's amazing to me.
*Attendance is listed at 19,562.  Does that factor any of the earlier game's attendance because viewing from home last night, it looked more like a Depaul home game attendance at the Allstate.

What I noticed is that SHU's Eugene Harvey played all 40 minutes.

He was the guy who was so badly injured on his missed layup in the 2nd half that he was unable to attempt his free throws.  Coach Gonzalez brought Nutter off the bench to shoot the free throws.  Harvey was shown on the ESPN telecast stretching and snickering with an assistant coach on the bench.  After EIGHT SECONDS OF THE GAME HAD ELAPSED, he re-entered the game.

Did anyone else think that smelled bad?
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

It smelled REAL bad...especially after booby gonzo was complaining about St.J doing the same thing after his weekend game.

I'm over it.  The kid has the whole off-season to stretch out his calf.

Oh, I hadn't heard that Gonzo complained about that getting pulled on him.  Maybe TC will try it tonight...

It was so obvious I called it before Harvey went to the bench. One could read Gonzo on what he was doing. Actually they should change the rule and have the player sit until the next timeout regardless of who calls it.
