I'm more than surprised. They're the higher seed, had yesterday off...and are playing better. The bookies are begging you to take ND.

But I like to throw handfuls...

Very surprising as I have five major concerns tonight.  First we played a tough first round game and ND had the day off.  Two, our interior defense has been horrendous lately which doesn't bode well against Harongody.  Three, I thought I heard the announcers say that whenever McAlarney is in the vicinity of New York or MSG that he is lights out.  Four, our free throw shooting really needs to improve A LOT.  I know a large chunk of our missed free throws are coming from guys who don't shoot free throws very well but we just can't afford to miss them against good teams.  And five, we really need Cube and Fitz to step it up.  I don't want to put the teams success squarely on their shoulders but when they are hitting their shots from outside, it just opens everything up for Dom, McNeal, Matthews and Hayward and to a lesser extent Barro down low.

wagerline.com has MU as a 1pt fav.

http://wagerline.com/Scores-Odds/ncaab.aspx?t=0

You're reading that wrong...+1 means they are a dog.  Look at the UCLA wage line, otherwise we would be saying Cal is a 12 point favorite over UCLA?  Nope

Pakuni

Regardless, it wouldn't/shouldn't be a huge surprise to see MU as the favorite or the oddsmakers essentially making this a pick 'em game. Notre Dame may be 24-6, but they're only 5-6 away from South Bend.

Dish

MU should be a 1 point favorite based on the latest power rankings (as of Monday).

'Ville    87
G-Town   86
MU   83
UConn 83
ND   82
WVU   82
Pitt 81
Cuse 81
Nova 79
Prov  76
DPU  74
Cincy 74
SJU 72
Hall 71
SFU 71
Rutgers 68

Based on the lines out there, for those wagering (if it were legal *wink*), here's how today's Big East match ups shake out.

'Ville -4 (Cards should be -6, so they're a good play today)
UConn -2.5 (the books have this higher than where it should be, no play)
G-Town -6 (about where it should be, although I think Nova is a good value)

This is my favorite time of year to really cash in. Teams have everything to play for, there's full bodies of work to set lines against, and it's a lot of fun.

MuMark

Line has moved to MU -1 or pick on all sites at vegas insider now.

Basically a toss up game as we all already knew.

When you posted it earlier, it was ND -1.  Now it has switched.

murocky01

So the smart money is betting MU.  The insiders in Vegas must know something about the game that we don't, like maybe Harangody was up all night visiting a high-priced escort named Kristen.

or that we pounded them by 26 in game one and would have won game two if a pass didn't go through trend's hands as he went in for a dunk with 50 seconds left.

MU by 12 tonight.

Good stuff.

I'm thinking they know what we know. MU is just better than ND.
