That powerhouse IUPUI just got stomped by that other powerhouse Oral Roberts

MUCrisco

IUPUI has an RPI of 72 and Oral Roberts has an RPI of 56.  That's higher than 6 Big Ten teams.

Pakuni

It was a two-point game with two minutes to play. "Stomped" wouldn't exactly be the most accurate way to describe the outcome.

How long have you been rooting against them just so you could post a message like this?

That is a great thing to point out, however I betcha people would rather see Marquette play a team like Penn St, or Northwestern, or even Iowa due to name over IUPUI, even though they are a worse team.

losing the whole game
With 4:20 remaining, IUPUI led by 2.

Grack do you have a point here? Do you not like playing IUPUI? Do you just need something to post about?

esotericmindguy

And IUPUI has something even the Big Ten Champ doesn't, a decent NBA prospect with Hill.

Tulsa Warrior

FYI, Oral Roberts is the best D1 program in Oklahoma right now.  I'm not an ORU fan but those are the facts.

You know what, you can't have it both ways. First, people complain that they want us to play better teams pre-conference. Then, when someone points out that the "bad" team we played is actually better than a majority of the teams in a power conference, those same people say they would rather play a worse team because they know their name.

Which is it? Do you want tougher competition or a school you have heard of? What would make you schedule bashers happy? I seriously want to know. Maybe you should ask Crean to send you some options so you could approve the match-up.

Butler or Missouri
Illinois State or Northwestern
St. Mary's or Cal

How are we supposed to know which match-up gets your approval?

The circular logic of a lot of posters here is ridiculous.

ChuckyChip

It's like the old Al McGuire scheduling theory:  Play schools that have a good football team, but the basketball team stinks.  People will recognize the name and figure they must be good.

I thought IUPUI was by far the best non-conf home game opponent this year and probably would give Rutgers or St. John's a good battle.  Sorry to see them lose.
