Did we recruit this kid?  Looks like he is being courted by Illinois, UW, etc....surprised not to see Marquette on the list, looks like a nice 3 that will be needed in two years.

Don't know anything about this kid, but Marquette already has a committment from top 100/four-star small forward Erik Williams as part of the 2009 class.

esotericmindguy

Right, but doesn't seem to be the same position.....Maymon sounds like more of a 3.

MU was involved, but the kid has issues.  Great talent for sure.  But he's got off the court issues that scare a lot of people away.  He's already been suspended from school and the team for behavioral problems.  He's got academic problems that may lead to him not qualifying.  Plus, his dad is an overbearing stage father that drives away coaches and is abusive to fans.

He's one of the more talented kids in that class, but I just think he's going to end up at a Mid-Major and then in 2012 when he finally gets his head on straight people will be b*tching about how we didn't recruit him without knowing what actually happened.  Either that or he'll flame out and never even make it at the D1 level, which would be a shame.

last time i checked small forward was a 3... ::)

I am fairly certain UW@Moscow is not recruiting him.
But I like to throw handfuls...

From what I have read he doesn't seem to be a good fit for either us or madison.  We shouldn't bend over backwards to facilitate helicopter parents and potential headcases.  The other thing to keep in mind with UW's frequent attendance at Madison Memorial's games is that sophomore Vander Blue is also a target of theirs (and ours).  Just because they show up to the game doesn't mean the Badgers care about Maymon.

Well in college I'd disagree, most teams start two 4s, so that is what I'm referring to.  Put it simply, Maymon doesn't play the same position as Fulce.

Either way, sounds like a head case.

augoman

the kid is unstoppable, and should do very well in JC.

Fulce is not a 4, he's a natural 3 who will be playing out of position if he's at the 4.

MuMark

Fulce is good.

He is 6'7 with long arms and a nose for the ball. Very athletic

He will help us next year and will get time at both the 3 and the 4 depending on matchups.

ecompt

if the kid is a head case and doesn't do well academically he sounds like a perfect fit at Madison.

I wasn't talking about Fulce. I was talking about Erik Williams, a 6-foot-6 small forward/three from outside Houston.

MUFanInGreenBay

Speaking of Fulce, I think he's going to surprise some folks next year from what I hear from people that have seen him play recently. He's not just a 6'7" athletic/energy type guy. He's got some pretty good skills and a nice stroke to boot. I think he'll at first help us most on defense because he's the type of guy we don't have right now that can match up with those longer athletic/skilled forwards like a Donte Greene. But once he gets acclimated to BE caliber basketball I think he'll give us a little scoring punch too.

MuMark

Fulce is legit.

I think he could do better on a guy like Green then some of our other guys but he would still be giving up 3 inches and some weight so it would still be a tough matchup.
