If Marquette falls to 7, 8, or 9 they will most likely lose on the first weekend again.  Need to take care of SH and then ND to climb to a six seed.  If we beat ND that would give us 4 wins vs. the top 25 RPI and 0 losses out of the top 50....that should be enough to secure a 6 seed.  I say a successful season (sweet 16 birth)comes down to the Thursday night matchup, I think we'll handle SH.

Don't think we can beat Memphis, Tennessee, North Carolina, UCLA, Kansas, Texas, Duke, or Georgetown (1s and 2s).  But I like our chances with Xavier, Wisconsin, Stanford, Vandy, Louisville, ND or UCONN (possible 3s); obviously still a tough scenario but much better then seeing those top tier teams in the second round.

Of course this is assuming the boys can actually get out of the first round.

There is really a lot of negativity on this board!  I wish more people could be optimistic!

I know that over the course of the season we have shown that we can beat both Duke and Georgetown. We played both, and both games were extremely well contested games, we have the talent just need to close the games. The other 1's and 2's look tough, although Texas has been proven vulnerable, they lost to both Michigan State and Wisconsin. I like a matchup with Duke, Gtown, and Texas better than on with 'Ville, Uconn or Stanford.

I think we can beat Texas, Duke, and Georgetown, but I do not think that we can beat Louisville or Vandy.  I agree with the placement of all the rest of the teams.  We would have to bring our very best from every player to beat those teams, though, which hasn't happened in a while.

Right now a win over Seton Hall is enough for us to get a 6 seed.  I think if we beat Notre Dame we can reach a 5 seed.

Beat Louisville and I don't think a 4 would be out of the question either but I think we will land a 5 seed no matter what.

Really?  I disagree, even if we beat SH and lose to Notre dame that puts us 3-9 vs. the top 50, and losing 3 of our last 4 games and finishing in 6th place....no way we get a 6 seed.

If we beat SH and lose to ND we are 2-2 in our last 4, not 1-3.
But I like to throw handfuls...

Warrior Forever

After getting the shaft last year, who the heck knows.  Pending our performance this week, we could be anywhere from a 5-10.  Frankly, I'll take the 10 over 8/9.  Let's just wait and see what the men behind the curtain concoct.

Go Warriors.

I 2nd that.  Obviously we have the talent to play with Duke and GT.  Texas wouldn't be a terrible top seed to be seeded with.  And I don't see a reason to assume we'd lose a game against Tennessee.  Why anyone would like our chances playing Louisville I have no clue on.

Don't follow much, but I would bet against anywhere in state, if that was the case he'd already announce.

As far as wanting to play Louisville, I didn't mean to say that.....meant to say that the quality of the likely 3 seeds is much lower then the 1s and 2s.  Tennessee would kill Marquette, get over you Pearl hatred.
