As much as I like Trevor, he just is not ready for the post season. I know the choices are not great, but unless Ooze and Burke totally flame out, Trevor should see very limited minutes. Now, if Crean is looking to next year, that is a different story. but, I am seriouly doubt Crean has given up.

Burke has shown some spark on occassion. Trevor just seems to be in a little over his head. The kid will be good no doubt.  But, I really think Ooze and Burke, as limited as they are, present the best option for the team in the middle.

Interestingly enough, I have thought that all three have played relatively equal. TM has not been the savior many hope he would be. Realistically, it is tough to expect that he would be that savior after having almost zero time to adjust to NCAA ball. That said, Barro and Burke have not clearly been better when on the floor.  I think you continue to rotate the three depending on match-ups.

I think we were all hoping that Trevor would come in and light it up - adn realistically, taht's unfair to think it - but I did and I am sure a lot of folks did.  We were hoping - becuase we needed that spark.  I think he will be good, he has shown some defenseive tenacity, but offensively, not helping much.  Not yet.  He is jumping in the Big East for his first minutes as a collegiate player - tough duty.  Nice to have him as an option, and maybe we will find a good match up one of these games for him where he can score - but, mostly for TM, it's wait til next year.

That said, I hope I am totally wrong and he lights it up LOL.

I think part of the problem with Trevor is he's been thrown into the lineup out of position,  he's a PF, not a C,  but with the makeup of the team, he always has to play C.  If the lineup were something like : C Barro PF Trevor SF Lazar SG Jerel PG James , i think Trever would produce a lot better - and i think that lineup looks a lot tougher than anything else we can throw on the floor,  Wes can still get 20+ minutes, just throws the rotation off a little

PuertoRicanNightmare

Although I disagree with activating him, I think Trevor's been pretty good.

The fact that he's in there and is a threat...both on the boards and as a bigger post presence than Barro or Burke adds significantly to the team. You can't look at his box scores (points, rebounds, etc.) and judge him solely on that.

Why take out the only big consistently playing with passion and energy and willing to always wrestle with the other teams' big?   To soothe feelings?   Wrong answer.   If TM gives us the best chance to win, play him.   That simple.
Luke 6:45   ...A good man produces goodness from the good in his heart; an evil man produces evil out of his store of evil.   Each man speaks from his heart's abundance...

It is better to be fearless and cheerful than cheerless and fearful.

Nukem2

Right now, Trevor has limited vertical explosiveness from a standing sart due to the knee brace which affects his shot and the ability to alter shots when a guy backs him down.  But, he has played well otherwise.  I say continue using him.  The 3 man rotation in the post has actually been effective.  The real issue is the lack of length on the wings.  Hopefulluy Joe fulce and Erik Williams can help with that in the future.

Several reasons to go with arro and Burke at #5-----first Mbakwe is no #5----he's a #4. Hibbert & Onuaku had their way with him-----plus he doesn't have #5 type offense-----his shooting percentage is 28% the last time I looked.

Secondly it's Barros last Hurrah----to take minute away from him and give to a rookie who didn't practice the whole season is an insult to him with only the post season of his senior year remaining.

TC needs to give him a pep talk (appeal to his pride) and I tink he'll come through-----meanwhile sit Mbakwe until next season.

I tink he come true, too!  Sounds like a bit of a Senegalese accent.
The shaka sign, sometimes known as "hang loose", is a gesture of friendly intent often associated with Hawaii and surf culture.

I agree with you on this. Trevor just is not ready and that has been very obvious the last couple of games.

If DJ does not come back, I would not be shocked if our starting 5 was:

PG Matthews
SG McNeal
SF Hayward
PF Mbakwe
C Burke

Matthews has shown he can handle the point guard position and Hayward is just so much better suited to be a swingman. As much as I worry about the following idea, it would also be beneficial to McNeal to give him some time at the point.
