MU holds steady in ESPN brackets

Written by: Emmett Prosser

Despite having only three victories against the RPI top 50, Marquette is seeded fifth in Joe Lunardi's latest Bracketology pairings.  Lunardi has the Golden Eagles facing Virginia Tech in the first round.

However, with a game at Syracuse remaining, Lunardi notes that MU's position could slip.

Florida Gulf Coast isn't exactly the profile boost a team needs in early March.

Read Adam Rittenberg's take on Saturday's painful loss to Georgetown. The conspiricy theories about the officials and the Hoyas don't end.

Lunardi's pick makes sense in light of the fact that MU is one of only five teams (Memphis, UW, Indiana, and Gonzaga) that have taken care of business and not lost to a team outside the top 50.
