Shaka reportedly went after a second guard early in the process.  IMO, due to the specific targeted nature of how MU hit the portal this time, they did not have an instant plan B.
The venn diagram... PG skills.  Knows that NJ will likely get the lion's share of minutes.  Fits the culture.  One year, as Shaka continues to recruit HS players.  Willing to play for the money slot allocated.  Now.....go.
CP is small, but experienced.  He thought his eligibility was up.  At 5'10, he knows he doesn't have a future in the league.
There is no way he came to MU to play off the ball.  Can't have 2 tiny guards in the game at the same time in a big guards league.  What he can do is mentor, play his 10 minutes, go in during the last two minutes when MU is trying to hold the lead.  Take his money, make contacts beyond Liberty.
The 4 pillars of Stoicism were courage, temperance, justice, and wisdom.
I get that.   Throw in some Jesus and bad jokes...

Which was a mis-step.

Hey 2022s, did you know Enterprise Rent-A-Car recruits thousands of college graduates annually and actively targets former student-athletes for entry-level management roles because of their competitive drive, discipline, and leadership skills? It's time for you to be one of the 99% of student-athletes who go pro in professions other than sports.

Imagine being the guy cheering on the NCAA. And harming #mubb in the process.

Yep. This was a very predictable problem. There is nothing B.S. about these lawsuits too. This class doesn't benefit in a manner the class before and the class after does. Clearly inequitable.

How did 2021 high school grads benefit? Do they get an additional year too?

And I don't care that it "harms" MU. MU had a choice to bring in one of these guys who refuse to grow up, when many schools are refusing to do so.

Imagine getting mad at a 22-23 year old who wants to continue playing college basketball. "GO NCAA!!!!"

Yes.  College athletes.  The only humans in the world who spend more than 4 years on a college campus.

Nope. Those people "refuse to grow up." God forbid anyone returns to school as an adult...

I agree about the NCAAs missteps but I wouldn't say blocking 2022s harms #mubb. Several of Marquette's opponents next year are bringing in a lot better 2022s than Colin Porter (no offense to Colin, there's just a lot of really good 2022s trying to come back). I think #mubb would likely be in a better position if all 2022s were blocked.
