Trying to remember if I've ever seen an opposing player put 40 on Marquette. I don't think so?

Croshere had 39, as a few Scoopers mentioned, and that was the best scoring game I can recall seeing against our alma mater's team. Morant's all-around domination of Wojo's best squad would have to rank up there, too.

Youngster that I am, I don't remember Frazier's NIT performance vs MU or Thompson's NCAAT game.

Ben Bentil scored 42 against us for Providence in 2016. MU won the game though.

Was just about to mention that the Bentil game I mentioned was 42 points.

In terms of performance, Ben Bentil was incredible in that double overtime game in 2016. Probably the best live opponent performance I've seen.

Larry Hughes put up 40 against us in 1998 at the BC.  That might be the only one.

Thanks for those. I must have seen the Bentil game, because I think I saw all of 'em that season, but I probably forgot about it because it didn't cost MU the game. I remember reading about Hughes' performance but it wasn't on TV for me to have actually witnessed it. (Unlike the Croshere and Morant games I mentioned.)

Given how often Markus went for 40+ (and even 50+), I wonder how many fans on their versions of Scoop would say he was the best player they've seen go against their team.
